Position Overview:

This position’s primary responsibilities are to drive design projects that result in the development of new products and the improvement of existing products as well as to provide product design support to the manufacturing locations and to our customers.  Product focus is on the development of electrical distribution devices and associated electro-mechanical components. This role requires strong ideation skills and the ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects. Experience with injection molding, sheet metal stamping, and assembly processes are preferred. The incumbent should possess strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with others in a high paced environment.

In this function you will:

  • Take responsibility and leadership for assigned projects and their implementation to achieve planned results.
  • Lead Design Engineering efforts on various projects including concept development, 3D modeling, drawing creation, prototyping, testing, analysis, and supporting manufacturing implementation.
  • Establish initial design requirements and project scope to ensure acceptability and understanding by all.
  • Create and/or approve drawings, specifications, materials, etc. for new and improved products.
  • Plan and coordinate UL test programs and interpret the results to ensure that all the requirements of the products and components being designed are fully investigated.
  • Coordinate efforts with Marketing, Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain to implement projects.
  • Keep all stakeholders informed on project progress through review meetings and reports. 
  • Provide Design Engineering support through effective participation on cross-functional teams.
  • Maintain organization and support local procedures to assure product and process quality and manufacturing excellence.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution to be completed no later than May 2023
  • One (1) year of professional experience including interships.co-ops
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future.
  • Relocation assistance will be provided for candidate that reside outside of a 50-mile radius of Lincoln, IL 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Experience with AutoCAD software
  • Inventor Experience
