The Role
Defined Benefit Solution Architects are responsible for enhancing their deep experience and knowledge to design and deliver end to end business and technical solutions aligning with Fidelity Investments Workplace Investing Defined Benefit products, standard methodologies, and technology. They have autonomy to make decisions based on analysis of relevant information, business needs, customer goals, and limitations. The DB SA will work on complex, integrated implementation projects as well as drive significant multi-functional initiatives in support of business objective.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent years of experience) and at least ten years of Defined Benefit technology, operations and/or implementation related experience in the HR outsourcing industry
Seven plus years of demonstrated ability consulting with clients on Defined Benefit product and service design including large complex plans
Advanced industry certification (e.g. CEBS, PMP) or MBA preferred.
Analytical, consultative, and problem-solving skills
Strong knowledge of Defined Benefit industry trends and the ability to apply this knowledge to client work
Detailed knowledge of relationship management, benefits administration, business processes, and record-keeping
In depth knowledge of Fidelity’s Defined Benefit end-to-end product and service offerings
Understanding of Fidelity’s Defined Benefit system technology including standard methodologies and limitations
Project leadership and decision making
Influencing, collaboration and consultation
Ability to collaborate with internal and external teams and interface effectively within and across organizations
Experienced in integrating people, process and technology into client relationships, risk management, and leading and directing large scale initiatives
Knowledge of testing processes and methodologies.
Solid grasp of MS Office suite of products
Solid grasp of data structures and query languages
Knowledge of JIRA and Agile methodologies
The Team
The DB SA team is part of the Workplace Investing – Defined Benefit Client Services organization. We directly support new business implementations in addition to change order projects for our current client base. As a project team member, the DB SA is responsible for defining and implementing the end to end system configuration, custom processes, and non-standard service offerings. We also function as the point person for blocking issues and complex troubleshooting.
