The Position

The Commodity Merchant will work with the national management team and focus on the procurement and risk management of ingredients and commodity sourcing for our client's national business. You will have oversight for purchasing, selling, pricing and risk management of products within the relevant portfolio and you will work closely with the internal logistics, finance and wider merchandising group to ensure that the company’s trading activities and relationships exceed expectations for new and existing buyers and suppliers.

The Person

The ideal candidate will be looking to develop or start their career in a commodity trading environment, with an opportunity to work with a broad sector of the Australian Agribusiness market. You will have relevant qualifications, and ideally have previous experience in a commodity trading house or commercial agribusiness. You will be extremely driven and focussed on achieving results, whilst being a strong team person. You will be able to lead from the front and be willing and capable of communicating effectively at all levels within the industry. Experience working with producers in the grains, hay, seed or similar bulk commodities would be advantageous.
