Job Purpose and Impact

Cloud Engineer Lead will provide technical thought leadership across multiple engineering teams to build the foundation for modern business applications in the company. In this role, you will provide thought leadership to drive the technology strategy and foster the use of modern infrastructure and cloud software engineering practices to build, secure and maintain the core capabilities used by our data and application teams to drive business value. You will also provide technical leadership and influence to inspire engineers to constantly learn and apply new trends and technologies to handle business problems. 

Key Accountabilities

• Participate in the engineering community by being a coach and mentor to engineers, share new technical trends and modern skills and present code best practices. 
• Experience with Cloud Provider (AWS or Azure or GCP). Moderate experience with container technologies (Kubernetes, EKS, ECS, Swarm, Docker, etc) and a strong background in scripting and programming including – Terraform, Ansible, Golang or Python 
• Provide advanced knowledge and thought leadership to drive the execution of the technology vision and strategy for engineering. 
• Provide technical leadership and influence the use of software development and infrastructure as code practices to build the platforms, systems and infrastructure. 
• Design, develop, test, deploy, support and enhance the highly complex automated infrastructure and platform components. 
• Provide expert leadership across multiple engineering teams to resolve highly complex problems and remove roadblocks. 
• Participate in the engineering community by being a coach and mentor to engineers, share new technical trends and modern skills and present code best practices. 
• Provide expert thought leadership in your field and work with limited direction, using additional research and interpretation to identify issues or problems. You may provide direction to supporting team members and be a strategic contributor. 
• Provide technical leadership and influence the use of software development and infrastructure as code practices to build the platforms, systems and infrastructure. 
• Design, develop, test, deploy, support and enhance the highly complex automated infrastructure and platform components.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience 
• Minimum of six years of related work experience 

Preferred Qualifications

• Confirmed experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery tooling to drive infrastructure code deployment 
• Experience providing technical leadership across multiple engineering teams  
• Experience building and managing Hosting Platforms which automate the build, deployment, and ongoing management of applications 
• Experience across all areas of compute infrastructure, including operating systems, compute, storage, relational and no SQL data storage, cloud, hardware, virtualization, containerization, container orchestration, and network  
• Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery tooling to drive infrastructure code deployment  
• Experience with Cloud services including account management, automation, security, multi-zone, and multi-regional deployments, and cost optimization  
• Expertise with scripting/programming languages for automation and infrastructure development (e.g. Golang, Python, Java, JavaScript)  
• Experience with application development, including the architecture, build, security, support, and testing of modern web applications  
• Experience working with agile teams, leveraging modern engineering tools and practices to manage team backlog, planned work, and issue tracking
