Responsibilities
Learn to perform keyword research and use those skills to grow a targeted keyword portfolio. 
Conduct competitor analysis to identify gaps in our content coverage and areas of opportunity. 
Evaluate cannibalizing URLs and determine the appropriate redirect or repurpose strategy for older content. 
Audit internal linking on an ongoing basis to improve the search visibility for our highest-value pages. 
Map out new and existing verticals to ensure optimal search visibility. 
Get to know and learn to communicate with our amazing editorial team. 
Monitor the performance of site rankings with a focus on increasing and defending our rankings.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum
Qualified intern candidates with be a rising junior or senior, with a preference given to graduate students pursuing a degree in Marketing, Internet Marketing, Website Development, Digital Media, or a related field.
Internship positions are located in Vermont; Cox does not provide a housing allowance.
Preferred
Previous experience working directly with SEO campaign management
Previous experience with analytics and common reporting platforms/tools
Search Engine Marketing, email marketing, social media experience (e.g., Facebook, blogging, reputation management, etc.)
Strong knowledge of web-based applications and common Internet protocols and conventions (web browsers, email, HTTP, FTP).
Basic knowledge of web display languages (i.e., HTML, CSS) and Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Word, Excel) is also required. Knowledge of web development techniques, technologies, and databases is preferred but not required (e.g., XML, JavaScript, Velocity, MySQL).
Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate articulately both verbally and in writing, the ability to manage difficult situations and difficult people, strong copywriting and proofreading skills, highly customer-focused (internal and external customers), engaging and effective subject matter expert, and presenter.
Strong time management skills with the ability to multi-task proactively and in response to issues as they arise, proven methods to manage self and others (both clients and colleagues) adept at problem-solving, able to follow procedures, flexible to creatively develop solutions and workarounds as needed.
You prioritize the needs of self, others, and the organization. You contribute to an enjoyable and supportive work atmosphere while maintaining a positive attitude, and you work independently while providing internal customer/stakeholder service and exercising sound judgment.
