Selection Monitoring (SM) is looking for a Frontend Engineer to join our team to build mission-critical, data driven full stack applications. About Us
The mission of Selection Monitoring (SM) team is to gather and present all facts about all selection (entities that make an e-commerce catalog, eg - products, restaurants, music etc) external to Amazon. Why is it important? For Amazon to deliver customer value, it is important to: 1) expand the product and brand selection we carry, 2) onboard additional sellers/vendors to our platform and 3) offer the best customer experience. Our vision is to ensure that Amazon’s Catalog is the superset of all products relevant for our customers. Our goals are to help establish universal and authoritative selection and to keep our selection competitive, accurate, and complete.
About You
You are as passionate about creating easy to use experiences for customers as we are. You know about and continually want to learn more about web frameworks. You strive to build data driven, insightful and intuitive experiences for customers. You know about the nuances, pitfalls, strengths, and associated best practices of the various web application paradigms (single-page apps, MVC apps, etc.). You’re determined to find the right approach even if it’s not your own. You believe in agile development and quick prototypes, and you strive to see your work in action. You are committed to building scalable, maintainable architectures, and to writing clean, readable code.
In this role, you will be responsible for working with engineers and product managers across teams to develop full stack applications. You will help to define best practices in software architecting and build data driven insights. You will also influence and help shape the growth of our team and our organisation.
· Professional non-internship experience with front end, web or mobile software development using JavaScript, HTML and CSS
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent professional experience
· 1+ years experience in front-end languages, libraries, and rendering technologies (JavaScript, Node.js, templating languages, web frameworks, HTML5, CSS/SASS).
· 1+ years experience in full stack technologies, MVC architecture and RESTful web services
· 1+ years experience delivering front-end software that is correct, stable, and security compliant.
· 1+ years of experience in multi-tier web architecture
· Passion for creating efficient & scalable web interfaces.
· Ability to think big and help innovate in a fast-paced environment.
· Experience developing application using front-end frameworks like React, Angular, or Backbone
· Familiarity with object-oriented design
