The Territory Director ensures the day to day activities and duties of each corporate club location and the assigned region, is operated in a manner consistent with the brand standards and the best practices of Freedom Boat Club. Success will be measured by adherence to budget (which will include growth targets), safety, asset utilization and maintenance, employee morale and member satisfaction.
The candidate must possess strong interpersonal skill sets in order to properly lead and communicate to team members, other divisions, peer group, prospects, vendors, members and leadership. At all times, this candidate will operate the club locations in a manner that takes advantage of regional and national synergies.
In addition to the above, this Territory Director position requires either known or learned market and territory knowledge to drive expansion, organic or through acquisition. The Territory Director will lead the process of identifying opportunities and be an essential member of the integration team to ensure smooth onboarding of acquired or newly formed locations.
It is recommended the educational background is a minimum of a bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree and a maritime background is preferred.
 
 
Specific job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Facilities and Operations
Fully utilize Freedom Boat Club’s established best practices and standard operating procedures to ensure consistent and familiar engagement across company owned locations and the region. Given the uniqueness of each location, it may be required to create local procedures to overcome operational challenges
Proper implementation of the Red-Carpet treatment to our members (Post COVID), specific member greeting and salutation procedures, safe boarding and disembarking, parking, hours of operation, flow of operation, fueling, repair, maintenance, unsafe boating areas, and more
Establish a management operating process to ensure each club and the region remains in compliance with established policies and procedures, maintains proper staff levels, member to boat ratios and consistently meets or exceeds budget
Proactively work with each club manager and team to make any adjustments to ensure goals are met
Ensure club locations are selected according to Freedom standards to include ease of operation and flow, safe boating, a desirable body of water, pleasant surroundings and more
Ensure team members properly maintain, clean and perform safety checks on the vessels
Maintain and secure an adequate level of replacement parts and supplies. Assist with distribution, minimize loss and ensure reimbursement from members
Participate in the development and implementation of Freedom Boat Club’s systems: dockside transactions, reservations, fleet management and more
Assist with keeping a local location policy and dock staff manual current
Engage and form solid working relationships with central services: accounting, training / captains, fleet, franchise services, marketing, sales
Provide exceptional service to Freedom Boat Club members
Human Resources
Hire a diverse team of employees and provide the proper training that promotes teamwork to ensure a safe, happy, and effective work environment 
Ensure the individual location managers and dock staff are properly trained and have the adequate staff and skill set for specific location’s needs
Ensure that all new policies and procedures created for an individual location are introduced to the team, trained to and added to the local dock staff manual
Assist in the development and implementation of a performance incentive-based compensation plan for dock staff to reward team members for goals met
Ensure all dock staff are properly trained to provide club information to walk up or warm prospects. Warm prospects include prospects sent for a club tour by the Membership Executive
Maintain an open line of communication with all club managers and make oneself available to them, the dock staff and the members as necessary
Lead by example
Fleet and Maintenance
Maintain an impeccable fleet: fully functioning, clean, and in ship shape 
Work with corporate fleet team to ensure all product needs are met, constantly evaluate boat model mix to maximize member preferences and area applicability
Establish, with the help of the MOC (current 3rd party provider), a maintenance schedule for each vessel to best reliability and uptime
Work with the Venice marine operations center and team to coordinate new and retired vessel movement
Growth
Build and develop relationships with local marina mangers, harbor masters and promote positive working relationships with marine industry professionals.
Become familiar with the local markets, waterways and popular boating destinations in adjacent markets
Actively engage in the analysis and recommendation of new club locations
Develop a regional growth strategy that is complimentary to the Freedom Boat Club strategic plan. Build business plans and present to leadership for approval
Develop a business plan to insource fleet operations: prep, rig, service, maintenance, winterization, storage, etc. Create a fully functional Marine Operation’s Center (MOC) that is modeled after the MOC in Venice, FL.
Members
Collect, review, and implement (practically) member feedback system on a regular and efficient basis. Follow up with each location manager and ensure proper implementation & corrective action is taken based on feedback received 
Correspond with members on all dock related issues including but not limited to complaints, fuel discrepancies, vessel damages, personal injury, and miscellaneous dock charges
Post COVID, work with marketing and the events coordinator to plan social events and activities that build friendships, relationships amongst the staff and members and members and members
Additional and other duties as assigned
