The Staff Accountant, an integral part of the Freedom Boat Club team, will be responsible for maintaining proper accounting processes and controls for FBC entities. The Staff Accountant will work closely with the Controller and accounting team to ensure that the monthly/quarterly/annual accounting processes are completed in a timely manner per GAAP requirements. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for Accounts Receivable for our franchisor operations, assist with month-end close and reporting including accounts reconciliation, income statement variances and analyses.
Responsibilities:
Helps prepare and maintain the FBC entity ledgers and support business unit management by providing financial statements and performing analyses as appropriate.
Responsible for assistance with month-end close and prepare general ledger journal entries related to FBC entities.
Responsible for the reconciliation and prepare general ledger journal entries of the daily cash entries on a weekly and monthly basis. Provide timely resolution to any issues prompted by the information sent.
Responsible for the reconciliation of various entity bank accounts.
Responsible for the posting revenues by verifying and entering transactions into QuickBooks.
Responsible for posting customer payments by recording ACH, credit card transactions and checks.
Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations including reconciliation of bank/cash accounts.
Review and reconcile revenue and non-revenue related receivables and payables.
Complete ad-hoc analysis and reporting of monthly, quarterly, and yearly results, business performance and SG&A drivers.
Identify opportunities to automate or redesign processes to support overall Brunswick Corporate Accounting initiatives.
Performs variance and trend analysis.
Assist Brunswick Finance team during quarterly/annual earnings release cycles as requested
Skills/Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required (Accounting/Finance)
3-5 years of experience of Accounting/Bookkeeping experience is required.
Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal controls.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks and exposure to enterprise accounting systems e.g. Oracle.
Self-starter with strong organization, project management, and communication skills.
Ability to work well across all levels of the organization.
Candidate must be able to provide outstanding customer service to our existing and future members.
