We have over 250 franchised locations in addition to over 50 corporate owned boat clubs in operation throughout North America and Europe. The Freedom Boat Club thrives on providing a top-notch member experience EVERY time. We take the Hassle out of Boating! As our company has grown, we have developed more needs for technical leadership in the business justification, requirements gathering, development, and testing of our systems, the support of our franchisees, and the coordination of our business and technical resources to implement the technology roadmap. This role will lead our technology priority programs and help FBC continue to lead the field in the boat club space.

Position Summary

As a small division of Brunswick Corporation, we are entrepreneurial and need to keep that entrepreneurial spirit while developing systems to enable our rapid expansion from handling over 300 locations and over 47,000 members to 500 locations and 100,000 members.  We believe in technology as a means to differentiate from our competitors, service our customers and to help our staff and our franchisees to be more operationally efficient and effective.

The JDPM is responsible for the analysis of business needs, management of project teams and organizational change, and to a lesser but still important extent, support of the Freedom Boat Club IT application environments.  We’re looking for someone with a product management, business analyst, project management and/or customer service background in technology who can dive into our business, help us support our franchise network, employees and members.  Experience in strategy, design, development, testing or support of digital products is a plus. Experience in the marine industry is desirable.

Primary Responsibilities:

- Core Business Processes

  • Identify major industry drivers (opportunities and threats).
  • Compare technology features against those of competitors and recommends improvements (example: customer service measures, benchmark studies)
  • Analyzes users’ priorities and competitors’ strategies and determines the potential impact on the organization’s core business processes and systems to support release recommendations.

- Requirements Analysis & Testing

  • Performs thorough analysis and testing to ensure defined requirements are met without defects.
  • Creates and champion clearly defined project specifications through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
  • Manages project and business team members with analysis and testing tasks or reviews the work of others who are performing the tasks.
  • Analyzes, troubleshoots, and researches system problems and develops solutions and recommendations.
  • Tracks, monitors, and communicates all phases of testing, debugging, and maintenance during system tests.
  • Defines user and system test cases, reviews test scripts for validity of outcome and makes informed recommendations or modifications.

- Project Management

  • Manage complex project assignments to scope of work, budget, and timelines, as well as coordinate company and contractor teammates to complete the project.
  • Applies project management processes end-to-end without light supervision.
  • Analyzes and solves project management problems/issues.
  • Assists senior team members in establishing project guidelines within project development cycles.
  • Presents key project management concepts to project team and answers questions related to topic.

- Business Use Case

  • Apply knowledge of all interfaces with the relevant systems and their connection with custom reporting features.
  • Identify process inefficiencies and suggest improvements.
  • Perform advanced platform and application functions to support project/work team projects.
  • Advises on operational problems and provides technical assistance to business, franchise and project teams.
  • Handle franchisee and employee technical support and manages development efforts & feedback mechanisms to promptly close open issues based on priority.
  • Ensures timely resolution of support issues by taking responsibility for coordinating resources required to resolve.

- Manage the implementation of custom/package systems or technologies to support new or existing business requirements of considerable complexity under minimum direction and across multiple platforms.

- Oversee major upgrades of applications and collaborate with matrix functions to understand major changes.

Secondary Responsibilities:

- Assist in product selection & procurement

- Follow set standards, policies and procedures to ensure quality control

- Build strong relationships with vendors

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, certifications considered in lieu of degree
  • 2-3 years of experience in customer support, business analyst, project management and/or digital product management
  • Demonstrated ability in problem solving and decision making is a must
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship building skills, particularly the ability to network and navigate across a large matrix organization, required
  • Ability to create and follow continuous improvement process methodology required
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
  • Must have the ability to manage stressful or unusual situations in order to maintain good customer service
  • Must have excellent computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications as well as iPad and mobile devices
  • Ability to communicate in other languages (Spanish, French, etc.) is a plus.

This role is based out of our Venice, FL office, but you are only required to be in-person 2-3 days per week.
