We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Category Procurement Manager within our Abbott Rapid Diagnostics business located in Chicago or San Diego.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis within our Abbott Rapid Diagnostics HQ organization located at Lake Forest, IL. In this role, you will have financial management responsibility for all division headquarters activities. This opportunity with Abbott’s Rapid Diagnostics Division (RDx) finance team is for a results driven and well-organized individual with strong analytical, communication, financial systems, and Excel skills. This role reports to the RDx Assistant Division Controller, FP&A, and will primarily be responsible for leading the HQ operations financial planning activities during the Plan and LBE processes, ensuring timely and accurate month end accounting and reporting for the HQ operations, and providing ongoing business analysis and support to multiple HQ functional leaders.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide financial/business support for division headquarters leadership, including 5+ DVPs (Finance, IT, QA/RA, PMO, Marketing) and Directors reporting to them.

  • Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and analysis of HQ operations for all financial planning (LBE, Confirmation, Long Range) and month/quarter end close cycles.

  • Prepare month end close management reporting: analysis of P&L trends and comparisons vs. benchmarks (comparisons to Plan, LBE, and Prior Year); identify key drivers as part of variance analytics.

  • Collaborate with Corporate, RDx Global Business Services and business unit partners to ensure alignment of HQ financial planning and reporting across all stakeholders and key business drivers.

  • Ensure timely and accurate planning and reporting for HQ integration and other key divisional programs.

  • Identify opportunities and highlight risks associated with the achievement of targets and metrics.

  • Assist in integrating into new and existing Abbott systems, identifying and implementing process improvements.

  • Manage two Senior Financial Analyst direct reports; provide feedback and guidance.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors in Accounting/Finance, Business, or Economics.

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience in a fast-paced work environment with frequent deadlines; ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks.

  • Previous experience working with large amounts of data and proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint. Solid accounting knowledge and strong technical systems skills such as SAP and Hyperion preferred.

  • Experience developing financial models that consider multiple variable input factors and analyzing various financial scenarios, historical financial performance, etc.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of internal clients. Flexible and well-organized with a strong attention to detail and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

  • Reasoning - Ability to solve problems with complex variables through non-standardized solutions that require independent judgment and analysis.  Ability to draw inferences and use deductive reasoning with no prescribed procedures to solve complex problems.

  • Minimal to no travel required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • CPA/MBA preferred

  • Experience with Big 4, National Accounting Firm, or Multinational corporation preferred

  • Experience with budgeting/financial planning for a large corporate organization
