BASIC FUNCTION:  This position is under the direction of the production shift lead and operates an electric lift truck in the performance of material handling and production functions. 

$20.24 to start; $21.50 after 3 months

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  Transports raw materials and packaging supplies into and out of storage areas to and from production areas as needed; transports finished goods into storage and to the shipping areas as directed; assists in loading and unloading operations(includes manual assistance when needed); assists in production areas when needed; assists in keeping area clean; keeps forklift batteries charged, ensures needed repair of batteries is coordinated; and production forklifts operators are responsible for the complete set-up and clean-up of their shifts.  Follows and enforces standards for food safety and food quality production reflected in SQF as well as the regulations of major vendors and governmental agencies such as OSHA, FDA and EPA.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  Must be able to do moderate lifting; bend, stoop, lift, squat, sit and stand for various periods of time and work in varied temperatures.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:  Must wear appropriate uniform; effectively communicate with co-workers, supervising staff and outside resources; be discreet with company confidential information; report errors/incidents/problems to appropriate persons and perform other duties as assigned.
