Food Safety Coordinator- Blakely, GA
This is an exempt level position.
Job Summary:
The Food Safety Coordinator is responsible for handling the daily activities of the site’s food safety program.
This position reports to the Food Safety and Compliance Manager.
Job Functions:
• Provides leadership, support, and mentorship to ensure that Food Safety/Quality requirements are met.
• Manages, plans, implements, and continuously improves the site Food Safety/Quality programs.
• Enforce Quality goals and KPIs, maintain Food Safety plan, and supports Operations for continuous improvement.
• Verify product quality and safety in a timely manner against specification, includes work in progress and finished goods product.
• Ensure the processes and systems are adequate to implement, achieve, and maintain 3rd party certifications (i.e., GMP+, SQF, etc.) and FDA compliance (21CFR 507 and/or 21CFR 117).
• Lead all aspects of usage of and provide support for information technology systems (i.e., Policy Tech, APeCS, GEMINI, etc.).
• Tracks and reports the Cost of Poor Quality to drive continuous improvement in the plant.
• Works and communicates with the facility team on any quality problems, or issues that arise.
• Excellent communication, problem solving, and good decision making skills are required.
Job Qualifications:
• Preferred 4 year degree or equivalent 7 year Food Safety experience in a Food manufacturing environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills a must. Ability to communicate and interact with all levels of the organization, including senior management, customers, and regulatory officials as needed.
