Job Description

This is a commercial role responsible for the flying costs for UK&I Tour Operators, covering our own TUI Airways flights and 3rd party flights. This role is responsible for managing key relationships between the operational, commercial finance and accounting teams. We strive to provide our customers flexible holiday packages, as a result, an area of growth for the business is 3rd party seat purchases and this role will be central in managing this cost base and looking for continuous process improvements to keep up with a changing landscape. It offers an opportunity to develop your commercial accounting and business acumen.

ABOUT THE JOB

  • Management of the monthly P&L for Flying, clearly explaining variances to the Commercial Finance team. 
  • Reconciliation of all balance sheets accounts including the intercompany transactions of passing costs from the transport company into the UK&I Tour Operator
  • Daily management of the 3rd Party funding accounts, ensuring that there are adequate funds to allow flight purchases for the coming week. Working with the Commercial 3rd Party Flying Teams to ensure we have a forecast for the short-term purchases
  • As this is a key growth area for TUI UK&I the processes should be continually challenged to ensure that the processes can be adaptable to change, this role will be the key contact for the 3PF operational team and management
  • Managing the Flying Finance Assistant
  • Ad hoc tasks in the completion of the overall flying numbers
  • Provide support to the Finance Manager
  • Key Contact for audit related questions

  • ACCA / CIMA Part-Qualified accountant 
  • Finance/Commercial Strong Excel skills 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong mathematical and analytical skills
