We’re looking for a technical advisor to join us at Co-op and help mitigate risk and costs across our fleet. In this office-based role, we’ll need you to apply your mechanical knowledge and great organisational skills to work alongside a team of fleet co-ordinators and fleet engineers and validate quotations from third party suppliers.

It’ll be up to you to make sure that costs and risk are managed effectively to minimise vehicle off road time, and provide technical support to colleagues and suppliers. What you’ll do

• manage supplier authorisation requests for mechanical and refurbishment work, validating these and making sure that pricing is correct based on the age/type of each vehicle
• arrange and monitor vehicle movements within the supply chain to get vehicles repaired and re-allocated quickly to minimise any operational impact when a vehicle is off road
• manage any operational orders for fleet equipment/cleaning materials, validating spend
• provide technical support to the wider fleet team to accelerate the approval process
• engage with customers to provide vehicle updates and guidance
• provide technical cover for fleet during peak periods

This role would suit people who have

• technical mechanical know-how – you’ve worked with vehicles previously, and have a City and Guilds qualification or equivalent
• good general IT skills with the ability to use Microsoft Excel comfortably  
• strong organisational and administration skills
• the ability to manage your time and prioritise your work effectively
• great team working skills
