Fleet Service and Efficiency Manager
£40,000 - £45,000 plus benefits (Work Level 6A)

We’re looking for a fleet service and efficiency manager to join our fleet control team at Co-op. Based out of our Birtley depot, you’ll provide the link between the fleet administration team and the national logistics operation.
In this role you’ll work with transport and warehouse teams, as well as our manufacturing partners, to make sure that the department delivers operational excellence as a standard. What you’ll do
• manage the on-boarding of new fleet and MHE equipment, both in-life and end of life movements; being responsible for the administrative aspects of the new vehicle and MHE build process
• maintain operator licensing and vehicle compliance
• assist in building replacement vehicle and disposal plans
• working closely with third party vehicle fleet and material handling equipment (MHE) suppliers, making sure service levels are met
• lead, manage and develop a team of 4 fleet administrators
• review fleet administration processes and identify continuous improvements
• manage all fleet and MHE databases and make sure records are accurate
• support the annual fleet budgeting process
• occasional travel to UK depots and suppliers
This role would suit people who have
• a qualification within vehicle and fleet engineering, or demonstrable experience in a similar role
• great people skills with experience managing and developing a high performing team
• experience in a heavy commercial vehicle and MHE environment
• strong general IT skills with the ability to use Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint confidently
• excellent communication skills and able to work with a range of colleagues across the business
• the ability to identify problems and think of innovative solutions
