Role: Fixed Assets & Overheads Analyst  

Reports to: Finance Manager, Fixed Assets and Overheads

The Accounting & Control (“A&C”) team is a critical element of the overall Financial Control team, providing accurate monthly accounts, commercial and statutory reporting, balance sheet account control and acting as a business partner to key areas of the organisation.

The successful candidate will need to be a ‘hands on’, pragmatic individual who will ensure that results are delivered on time without compromising the standards expected for financial processes and controls. The Fixed Assets & Overheads Analyst is responsible for processing journal transactions, executing month-end processes and preparing balance sheet reconciliations to ensure reliable, timely and accurate information is provided to key stakeholders.

Ad hoc duties include answering audit queries (internal and external) and answering fixed asset and overhead queries. It is important that this person has a good grounding in double entry accounting and is part qualified. Experience in Control and/or commercial roles gained within hospitality is desirable.

Inside the role:

• Executing the month end process and posting journals.
• Ensuring P&L lines owned are well understood, with timely insight provided at month-end and key reporting periods i.e. Year End and Half Year.
• Ensuring Fixed Asset register is maintained, evidenced and controlled through adhering to established processes and procedures
• Proactive analysis to support issues arising from the above.
• Timely reconciliation of Balance sheet accounts with thorough understanding of the balances and any risks and opportunities. Addressing all review points in a timely manner.
• Liaison with third party service providers and ensuring data integrity.

Open to you:

• Naturally numerate with an innately analytical mindset, your enthusiasm to pursue a career within Finance will be underpinned with either a degree or equivalent in a relevant Accountancy, Finance, Economics or Business discipline, or alternatively with successfully completed AAT’s up to minimum Level 3.
• Keen to review and optimise existing processes to ensure processes are simplified, clear and unnecessary work is identified and eliminated.
• A strong team player with excellent communication skills (spoken & written) – confident to put yourself forward and ask questions to ensure you get to the root of an issue and understand expectations.
• Advanced Excel will ensure you can hit the ground running and get to grips with our processes.
• Organised, pro-active and focused; this is a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines and these soft skills will ensure you succeed.
