The Financial Systems Manager (FSM) will support the reporting processes and enhancements for the Direct to Consumer & International (DTCI), Content Sales & Licensing (CSLO), Linear Networks (ABC/ESPN), and Corporate FP&A planning applications and related financial systems (e.g. SAP, Tableau). They will design, govern and support the reporting processes to meet the needs of client groups in all LOB’s and across the Enterprise.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Focus: The FSM will serve as a strategic business planning partner working with business process owners, business units and IT to formulate enhancement options to address specific functional issues/requirements. The FSM’s key focus will be to support the reporting strategy solutions for the enterprise. In addition, the FSM will be adept at learning new technologies, and leading proof of concepts that can be leveraged across the enterprise.

Process/User Support: Provides and oversees support to finance system users and develops/delivers localized segment training as needed. Works with Segment Partners to understand and support their process and data needs. Provides leadership for financial system/process continuous improvement opportunities for the corporate segment and across the enterprise.

Experience: The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in SAP and financial reporting (Cognos Analytics, Business Objects, or other BI Reporting Solutions). This individual will lead a team of highly skilled senior financial systems analysts that support the business analytics solutions across the segment and Enterprise.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years work experience with financial or accounting, preferably in a large SAP installation
  • Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated expertise and technical proficiency in report design and build.
  • Working knowledge in using Cognos/TM1 reporting tools (CAFÉ or PAX, CWA, Cognos Analytics, Report Studio, Active Reports) or other BI related tools.
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency in managing projects of small to medium scale and implemented change initiatives as a technical expert within a specified product or process area
  • Experience in service delivery in a high performing customer service and support organization with demonstrated expertise in reporting, data/hierarchies, and analysis
  • Strong understanding of financial systems, processes and enhancements
  • Proven history of building and maintaining excellent client service relationships
  • Proven ability to interact and partner with all levels of management to help drive collaborative business decisions
  • Charismatic, dynamic leader and effective manager, with a history of leading by example and mentoring teams to meet high profile objectives

  • Experience in directing the accounting and reporting of a highly complex, diverse, international, multi-location financial organization
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Flexible, “special-projects” orientation coupled with solid ability to deliver on baseline client service obligations
  • Experience leading and championing change on projects of moderate scope and budget, involving localized teams whose success is dependent upon the management of potential risk factors, impacting a specific line of business
  • Experience with direct/in-direct management of a team of high performing financial professionals with focus on solving complex technical issues to achieve specified results within service level agreement (SLA) parameters, while providing a positive experience for customers
  • Experience with direct/in-direct management of high performing customer service and support organization with demonstrated expertise in reporting and analyzing metrics to and driving resulting improvements in service levels
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to succinctly convey relevant information across multiple levels of the organization and confidently project a professional image that fosters relationship building and collaboration.
  • Ability to work independently on self -directed and assigned tasks under moderate direction and supervision

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Management experience
  • Experienced in using the Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project)
  • Experience in using SAP or another ERP
  • Experience in using Business Objects, Tableau, and/or Cognos reporting tools
  • Experience developing, requirements, test scripts, and end user training
  • Experience implementing financial processes and systems
  • Experience using systems designed to manage issues, changes and testing (e.g. Service Now, ALM)
  • Auditing Experience
  • CPA or CMA license, or equivalent
  • PMP or other professional project management certification
  • Six Sigma certification

Required Education

  • Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent work experience in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, Business, or a related field
