Job Summary:
Project Hire - 7 to 8 Month Assignment
The Financial Systems Manager (FSM) , (7 to 8 month assignment) will build a business case, develop a project plan, and gain buy-in to proceed with implementation projects as part of the overall Time Consolidation Program roadmap. The FSM is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, timeliness, and completion of the project ensuring consistency with department strategy, commitments, and defined goals as part of the overall Time Consolidation program.
He/she will manage the full project life cycle with experience scoping and forecasting for any new/future projects/work. He/she must be a strategic thinker that is responsible for effective and timely communication with business partners and leadership providing key information while building/maintaining sponsorship. The FSM maintains responsibility throughout for an on-time and on-schedule delivery for their projects while in partnership with Enterprise Technology and the business team. Experience with Workforce Management and/or Time & Payroll projects/systems is desired.
Responsibilities:
Strategy
Defines and drives established strategies for Financial Systems and related processes within their process areas
Implements strategic plans participating in the selection of methods, tools, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
Leverages synergistic opportunities across functions and businesses
Makes sound business decisions that balance competing priorities
Serves as a strategic business planning partner working with business units (within each Segment and across the Enterprise) and Enterprise Technology to formulate enhancement options to address specific functional issues / requirements
Develops Strategy for obtaining/Analyzing metrics to identify trends, process/system opportunities and recommends corrective action
Recommends and implements process improvement/reengineering initiatives consistent with the Time Consolidation program objectives
Maintains an in-depth knowledge of business specific objectives
Project Management
Liaises with Enterprise Technology on necessary efforts across multiple process areas and segments; ensures architecture supports business requirements
Complete necessary time solution training for a complete understanding to make informed decisions and assist project team, when necessary at all levels of work efforts
Leads the design, resource management, implementation, and support of finance system solutions for each Segment and the Enterprise
Effectively communicates with management, stakeholders, subject matter experts, peers, and project team members.
Assists in developing project infrastructure for team (i.e., templates, project management methodology and execution)
Develops project plans with specific goals, strategy, staffing, scheduling, identification of risks, contingency plans, and allotment of resources for each phase of the project.
Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule
Monitors project results against objectives, milestones, and scope.
Develops solution testing, training, and communication.
Obtains project signoff of completion and appropriately close-out
Leadership
Collaborate and strategically plan, design, and implement with Senior Financial Analysts
Manages financial analyst resources and ensures they are utilized appropriately
Proactively recruits, retains and develops a diverse range of talented people
Provides challenging work assignments and development opportunities
Supports productivity and morale of the team
Manages activities of one to two departments
Ability to positively confront issues and resolve conflict with sound judgment

Provide career leadership, frequent check-ins, and overall leadership to financial analyst (FA)
Process Support and Governance
Provides oversight for governance and monitoring of finance system compliance in accordance with company policies, standards, and SOX (Sarbanes Oxley) requirements
Applies expert knowledge and understanding of financial and US GAAP accounting principles to our systems and business processes
Proactively identifies issues (data or process) and ensures that appropriate action is taken to resolve issues
Manages the strategy for end user support and training. This includes request management (incidents/system enhancements) and training (standard materials, course design and delivery)
Oversees testing efforts for system implementations, enhancements, and modifications
Communication
Regularly interacts with senior management and executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or clients
Concisely develops and delivers key information; ability to develop well laid out executive presentations
Develops a logical and persuasive approach and outline for a presentation; knows how to vary format, structure, and content to suit various audiences
Conveys relevant information in a timely and concise manner
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of 10 years work experience with financial or accounting, preferably in a large SAP installation
Minimum 5 years of leadership experience
Experience working for large company and within a matrix
Proficient in creating compelling presentations to executive leadership
Experience presenting to audiences at all levels and of all sizes
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience leading professionals (direct reports & partners) through the project lifecycle
CPA or CMA license, or equivalent
PMP or other professional project management certification
Six Sigma certification
Experience with Pay Policies & Practices (e.g., union contracts, state/federal labor laws. Company policy, etc.)
Experience with Workforce Management Systems (e.g., Workday, My Time, etc.)
Experienced in using the Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project)
Experience in using SAP or another ERP
Experience developing end user training
Required Education
Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent work experience
Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, Business, or a related field
Preferred Education
Graduate Degree
Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field (e.g., MAC, MBA, MIS)
This role is considered hybrid, which means the employee will work a portion of their time on-site from a Company designated location and the remainder of their time remotely.
