The Financial Planning and Analysis Manager, Enterprise Technology will report to the Senior Manager, Finance and be responsible for leading finance focused initiatives and projects across the ETS organization and act as the main liaison with the IMO supporting the technology integration landscape. The FP&A Manager will be the key business partner and trusted advisor to 2 Technology VPs, 2 AVPs, as well as various levels of the finance organization.
The FP&A Manager, Enterprise Technology will support the overall financial management of several technology functional areas totaling $120M in annual spend. Key responsibilities include financial analysis, performance management, budgeting, and forecasting, as well as strategic initiative support and business case development. Other responsibilities will include R&O process and consolidation management for Enterprise Technology financials and integration process development and support.
A focus on continuous improvement including the enhancement of Finance processes and procedures is essential to success in this position. This includes partnering across the broader finance organization and with key business stakeholders to optimize upstream and downstream processes.
Job Description and Responsibilities
Cox Automotive is seeking a FP&A Manager to support Global IT leaders through budget/forecasting activities, long-range planning, investment planning, business cases, and ad hoc financial analysis. Candidates must have a solid understanding of financial management concepts, accounting procedures, reporting of key business drivers and variance analysis. Effective communication of analysis through executive-level presentations is essential, as are interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities
Manage the financial planning and coordination of monthly P&L and project forecasts for Risk & Opportunities discussions with leadership, as well as the annual budget process for several Enterprise Technology departments
Analyze departmental and project actuals/forecasts to gain insights and provide recommendations where appropriate
Maintain labor models and hardware/software contract spend and perform scenario analyses to understand impacts to the plan
Support the ongoing Mergers & Acquisition pipeline by validating business case assumptions and establishing a sustainable process for tracking all related spend
Consolidate and analyze monthly R&O submission for Enterprise Technology
Perform ad hoc analyses or business cases to support the evaluation of new opportunities and other key business decisions
Interpret financial and project data, variance analysis, and key business drivers to identify trends and make recommendations for improvement
Present summarized financial performance during monthly reviews to executive-level audience and their respective leadership teams
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting or an equivalent combination of education and work experience in a financial environment required.
MBA and/or CPA preferred.
7+ years of experience with strong focus in Financial Planning and Analysis.
Experience supporting a large Technology organization a plus.
Demonstrated analytical ability and high degree of intellectual curiosity with track record of delivered results.
Advanced MS Excel skills required, including logical and reference formulas, financial functions, use of pivot tables, best practice in financial model structure/design, assumption toggling, charting/graphing and formatting for executive presentations.
Experience with Oracle, Hyperion Planning, Essbase, OneStream, and PowerBI is a strong plus.
Ability to operate and work across functional groups in a matrixed organization.
Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Self-starter with flexibility and willingness to balance multiple, changing priorities and ability to work under tight deadlines. Experienced in organizing, prioritizing, and coordinating one’s own work.
Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) preferred.
Strong knowledge of financial concepts, practices, and procedures.
