Job Summary:

This is an entry-level professional position that requires a basic understanding of accounting and operating processes. Financial Accounting Analysts and Financial Reporting Analysts are expected to develop competence by performing structured work assignments. They use existing procedures to solve routine or standard problems and receive instruction, guidance, and direction from others.

This role will be supporting the Disney Parks, Experiences and Products (DPEP) Segment of The Walt Disney Company in one of many capacities – either through Segment Reporting, Business Unit Reporting, or one of the many dynamic functional roles which may focus on Capital Reporting, Financial Instruments, Balance Sheet Accounting, Leases, Fixed Assets, Cost Center Reporting, and more.

DPEP businesses include the Theme Parks & Resorts, Experiences (Disney Cruise Line, Disney Vacation Club, Adventures & Expeditions, and StoryLiving by Disney), and Consumer Products (Retail, Games, Publishing, & Licensing).

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for performing the day- to-day accounting and analysis functions for assigned clients
  • May prepare journal entries related to assigned responsibilities
  • Review and research accounting transactions for assigned clients
  • Assist with or complete Balance Sheet, P&L, and Cash Flow deliverables, including but not limited to, Q schedules, balance sheet reconciliations, and government required forms
  • Responsible for month-end (if applicable), quarter-end, and year-end close for assigned clients, from project set up/maintenance, to general ledger analysis
  • Provide accrual guidelines to ensure expenses are recognized according to GAAP and policies
  • Responsible for the preparation and analysis of the periodic management reporting of financial results for assigned clients
  • Provide ad hoc analysis and reporting

    • Uses existing procedures to solve standard problems; analyzes information and standard practices to make judgments
  • Communication and Customer Service Relationships
    • Information sharing – gives and receives information such as options, technical direction, instruction, and reporting results
    • May maintain communications with both internal and external contacts

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
  • 0 to 2 years accounting experience, but internship experience preferred

This role is considered hybrid, which means the employee will work a portion of their time on-site from a Company designated location and the remainder of their time remotely.
