You will be working as part of a small team in the Finance Programme Management Office, who are responsible for the identification, establishment, implementation and governance of Air Finance projects ensuring that they are aligned with Programme Management Control Framework (PMCF) processes. You will work closely with other team members and a broad spectrum of personnel across both the Finance and Director of Resource areas.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
The position does not have any line management responsibilities
The PMO is responsible for the collation, analysis, and presentation of programme management information to enable the Project Managers, Programme Directors and Senior Responsible Owners (SRO) to manage programmes and projects effectively. The PMO has responsibility for ensuring that programme management processes are operating efficiently and effectively.
The job holders will be required to liaise with many stakeholders including wider finance colleagues, Air Command Senior managers and external personnel; therefore, proven communication skills are essential.
Air Finance is based at HQ Air Command, located in the village of Walters Ash. There are good public transport links with regular bus services to/from Aylesbury and High Wycombe as well as free car parking on site.
While no formal qualifications are required for the post, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and qualifications in the Project delivery area.
In support of the above the Band D PMO Support Officer is to undertake the following tasks:
Maintain the Stakeholder Profiles Map and distribution lists, update the programmes Communications log and plan.
Establish good practice by maintaining the repository for documents under configuration control. Ensure that all changes to documents are appropriately recorded.
Support the C2 to maintain an accurate Level 0 and Level 1 Schedules for projects reporting progress, slippage and areas of risk and opportunity to Programme Team.
Support the C2 in preparing for and delivering to 1* and 2* Governance Meetings – these are vital activities that support the correct Governance of project activity in the Finance area.
Provide admin support to monthly Finance wide presentations – this will include booking appropriate facilities, preparing slide packs and ensuring IT is available and working to support the activities.
Assist in the creation, maintenance and updating of Process Maps for the Air Finance processes. This is a major piece of work being undertaken by the team and will require the job holder to be proficient in the use of Visio.
Provide support, advice and communications on the Value Improvement workstream; this is a vital and high profile project that will require someone with people skills and knowledge to assist the C2 in all aspects of the project.
