Finance Manager – Specialty Ingredients & Global Foods– Chicago, IL

Job Description:

The Global Foods & Specialty Ingredients finance team is recruiting for a global finance manager to support the overall P&L, long range planning, and M&A activities of the group to drive insights and accountability. The role will heavily focus on Global Protein product and serve as a direct business partner to the President of Alternative Protein. In this role, the candidate will collaborate with cross functional commercial and operations teams to understand the story behind the numbers, assess monthly / quarterly risks and opportunities, and improve forecasting across the business. The candidate will also have direct, significant interaction with leadership and a direct impact on the success of the company.

We are looking for candidates located in the Erlanger, KY/ Decatur, IL/ or Chicago, IL areas.



Role Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely, accurate and insightful budgeting, forecasting, KPI and reporting processes to facilitate effective oversight and decision-making, while also ensuring strong financial controls to ensure data integrity and accuracy
  • Drive the annual financial planning process along with tracking of performance versus plan and partnering with business stakeholders to address performance gaps to plan
  • Oversee the FP&A calendar, including our long-range strategic planning and annual budgeting processes, as well as our quarter-end and annual reporting processes
  • Partner with Accounting and functional FP&A to drive faster and more efficient close processes
  • Provide ad hoc analytical support to guide operational and strategic decision making
  • Lead topical ad-hoc analyses and deep dives into novel issues to improve the collective understanding of risks and opportunities related to these issues
  • Participate in the preparation of executive, foods leadership, and investor relations materials

Required experience and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any Business related field
  • MBA is an added advantage
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong business partnering skills and holistic view of business strategy, processes and financial objectives
  • Excellent financial modeling and analysis skills
  • Advance excel and power point skills
  • Ability to work quickly and manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment while maintaining a high level of precision
  • Demonstrates leadership skills and ability to make decisions independently
  • Critical thinking skills and ability to breakdown complex problems
  • Desire and ability to work in an effective team environment
  • Ability to successfully work through conflicts
  • Interest and ability to learn the agriculture industry, commodity trading
