You will be joining our newly formed Finance Reporting and Analytics department. The team was created to provide guidance and support to Business Partners, across multiple Finance teams, in the areas of reporting, management information and Financial Planning & Analytics. You'll be working alongside a Reporting Delivery Lead, and be accountable for providing sophisticated analysis to help drive decision making within the M&S.

Key accountabilities:

  • Delivery of Weekly Trading Reporting of sales and costs across the UK Business
  • Working closely with the Finance teams to plan and develop new reporting and analysis to lend insight for an ever evolving arm of M&S
  • Development and maintenance of Forecasting and Budgeting processes, ensuring current trends and specific requirements are considered.
  • Utilise Finance systems to drive control and process efficiency, primarily with the development of Power BI modelling to standardise and improve laborious processes
  • Design and maintain new models and processes that serve the needs of the business area, ensuring data is accurate and certified for use
  • Work with the Technology Support teams (SAP, Business Intelligence) and the Analytics Improvement Managers in the team to improve our financial and commercial reports
  • Implement and adhere to service level agreements for all key outputs
  • Work with Reporting Delivery Leads and other Finance Business Partners to define and maintain a fit for purpose reporting catalogue that provides insightful information to support decisions
  • Promote a continuous improvement of the reporting catalogue for your business area, advising where new requirements can be met by amending/stopping existing reporting
  • Provide training to the Finance Business Partnering team on how to access the reporting system is a self-service way
  • Keep up to date with new reporting and analytics developments across Finance

Key Skills:

  • Open and committed to learning how to use our reporting and planning applications:Power BI, Business Objects. You don’t need to be a technical developer, but, having received training, you should be confident in running existing reports and building new reports on existing dataset
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong working relationships with key business partners
  • Experience of improvement of processes
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Experience with financial reporting and an understanding of P&Ls and journals
