This non-exempt role provides critical stewardship and Financial support to the Beauty Care Technical Organization (Research & Development and Product Supply). Specifically provides direct budget development, reporting, and analysis support to several groups within the Technical Organization. This person is responsible for providing the R&D and PS leaders with the timely financial information they need to make informed business decisions.

The Analyst is responsible to craft, deliver and track the SRAP forecast for various budget owners. This involves reviewing monthly actuals with the different budget owners, spending versus budget position and providing insight to any spending anomalies or forecast issues. The role is also responsible for executing transaction processing (cross charges/journal entries) within SAP and working with Affiliate Accounting. The budget coordinator will be the lead participant in regular budget meetings providing actual spending analysis and working detailed spending issues associated with the group’s expense budget at the cost center and internal order level. He/She creates and consolidates forecast scenarios for the different budget owners and roles it up to the Beauty global forecaster.

Qualifications

Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred.

Accounting & Budgeting proficiency: this role provides the primary financial support for the Global Beauty R&D and PS budgets. This requires the management of a large budget that is dispersed across Directors in all regions. The candidate should be proficient in Accounting and Budgeting concepts and should also have a good understanding of SRAP and SAFE policy and procedures.

Communication: The candidate will interact with a range of customers concerning budget/spending matters. This includes developing estimated costs for building annual budgets and forecasts both independently and with input from budget owners and other Regional F&A contacts. Clear written and verbal communication is essential. Solid collaboration skills are needed since building strong working relationships with a wide variety of R&D/PS and F&A personnel is crucial for success in the role. The budget controller also facilitates regular communication and coordination with manager to advance goals.

Analysis & Systems: The candidate must be able to sort through large amounts of cost data and identify trends, risks and/or options and clearly communicate to the customer for them to be able to meet their business objective while remaining within budget.  Willingness to learn the Company’s budget and accounting systems (newly launched iSRAP, SAP, Journal Entry Tools (JES) among others). Also, the role researches actual spending transactions and working to resolve budget issues and actual spending coding errors is expected.

Priority Setting: The candidate should have strong priority-setting skills. There are numerous monthly and annual deadlines to be met that can, at times, require the candidate to work under time pressure. Note that this role will be expected to work independently with little day-to-day hands on supervision.

Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail and high accuracy.

Excel usage will be heavy and skill level beyond basic is expected.x
