Job Purpose and Impact

Cargill Protein has an exciting opportunity for a Field Sales Account Representative as part of the Sales team based in Manteca, CA. In this role you will be responsible for prospecting new customers, managing a customer base that maximizes product revenue and improves pricing gaps for the Manteca Sales office only.  Must be able to build sales relationships with honesty & integrity. Work closely with account management and location buyers to coordinate and align on pricing and inventory management. This position will be based in the field reporting to the Manteca CA office 1 to 2 times weekly as needed. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Collaborate with account managers to understand business requirements and market needs.
  • Pursue new market segments and opportunities for business development, calculating return and investment.
  • Monitor market development activities to align with company business goals.
  • With guidance, prioritize market segment development activities and set revenue targets.
  • Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of sales/marketing/account management/trading.
  • Customer service skills.  
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and be an effective team player.
  • Must be proficient in the use of basic business software (Microsoft Outlook, Excel).
  • Bi-lingual, Spanish.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Beef, pork, poultry, deli sales background.
  • Strong problem solving and planning skills.
  • Be able to identify customer and market opportunities and then work towards these by operating on a multi-level, cross-functional basis.
  • Highly organized, self-starter.
  • Strong negotiation and selling skills/experience.
