Job Description

Become a home-based Field Monitoring Officer and help us deliver better outcomes for a safer society across England & Wales.

Working remotely from home, you will travel across local communities to support those who have electronic monitoring requirements. You will support with the installation and decommissioning of monitoring equipment.

Compensation: You’ll be rewarded with £20,899 and a company car which includes personal use

Working hours: You’ll be working on a rotating shift pattern, between 5pm – 1am which averages 35 hours per week including some weekends and bank holidays. We’re also open to those who are seeking part time work; however, you will need to commit to a minimum of 28 hours per week

Location: You will be home-based and spend your shift visiting people in communities across your region Preston, Postcodes: PR1 ,PR2, PR3, PR4, PR5, PR6 ,PR7, PR25, PR26

Training: Our induction programme will include both virtual and face to face training. This may require overnight stays at a venue depending on your location

Vetting: Here at Electronic Monitoring Service (EMS), we handle sensitive information, therefore, there is a minimum requirement that successful candidates take part in UK BPSS level vetting. Some roles may require a higher level. In addition, you will also be required to complete Capita standard vetting. Unfortunately, you will be unable to start employment with us until clearance has been awarded, so your proactive engagement is key to avoid any delay to your potential start date.

What you’ll do:

  • As a Field Monitoring Officer (FMO), you will visit individuals in the community, whether that’s alone or alongside a colleague, to install, calibrate or decommission monitoring equipment.
  • You’ll be on the road regularly throughout your shift- don’t worry, we provide you with a fully expensed vehicle for this.
  • Sometimes, we may have priority visits to complete, you’ll be there to address any incidents and liaise with our support teams to discuss potential issues or breaches.
  • On rare occasions, our FMOs may be asked to contribute to a court hearing which you must attend. You’ll receive support and training prior to any court hearing.
  • As an FMO it’s important to keep track of equipment and make sure paperwork is completed in a timely, accurate and compliant manner.
  • You’ll check and clean equipment when it’s issued and on collection as well as quarantine any equipment which needs to be held for evidence.

What you’ll need to bring:

  • It’s essential that you have a full UK Driving Licence, at least a year of driving experience and comfortable driving at night on a variety of roads
  • You’ll need to be physically mobile, as you’ll be installing and removing equipment
  • Excellent verbal and written manner and basic IT skills are also required, as you’ll be updating your bespoke tablet
