About the Role

Lockheed Martin UK Ampthill is looking for a talented Facilities Manager to join the team. This role will have responsibility for all aspects of site management and is key to our business roadmap to support site capabilities and strategies including our current and future orders, hybrid working and net-zero carbon initiatives. The individual will have excellent technical, leadership and interpersonal skills.

Role and Responsibility:

Lead the Facilities Team to deliver all aspects of site, facilities, property and equipment management and maintenance. Constructions and other capital projects from project initiation through to construction completion and handover.

Ensure compliance to all health & safety regulations and company policies.

Ensure compliance to all regulations, company policies and best practice in all aspects of facilities management.

Overall people management of the Facilities Team and contractors.

Create and control the departmental & capital budgets.

Develop and execute a strategic facility plan, ensuring alignment to the business level long range plan. Gain approval for capital to meet the strategic plan.

Manage all aspects of energy conservation, building and grounds management. Develop and deploy strategies to net-zero carbon requirements.

Develop and deploy plans to support hybrid working models.

Develop capability within the facilities team. Develop a stakeholder management & communications plan.

Play a key role in Business Continuity planning and crisis management.

Managing the identification and justification of leasing agreement.

Coordinate subordinate employee recruitment, selection, training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions.

Manage allocation of department resources to ensure priority projects are implemented in a timely manner.

Ensure robust problem solving, root cause corrective action and drive continuous and digital improvement.

Required skills, qualifications and experience

A degree in engineering/construction or an equivalent recognized engineering/construction qualification.

Demonstrated experience and deep understanding of contract, buildings management and asset care maintenance with a strong technical knowledge of utilities and regulatory requirements within a manufacturing & office environment.

Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with impact at all levels within the organisation and external stakeholders

Ability to perform within a fast-paced environment and develop solutions with agility.

Good business acumen and the ability to maintain and make sound, timely decisions, without losing sight of the bigger picture, and/or long term objectives.
