Facility employee / caretaker

for 32-36 hours a week based in the Utrecht region

At Nidos Eigen Shelter (NEO, PON and OWG), young people are cared for throughout the country in small-scale residential units (KWE) and residential groups (KWG). There is a concentration of homes in the Utrecht/Amersfoort area. In addition to the homes where young people are guided towards independence, Nidos has 16 (regional) offices spread across the country. We are looking for a facility employee/caretaker for the daily management, technical maintenance and key management of the homes and activities at the (regional) offices.

Job description

As a facility employee/caretaker, you are responsible, together with the three fellow caretakers, for the daily management of the homes where the young people live. You inspect the homes and communal areas for safety and technology and you perform various maintenance work and minor repairs. As a caretaker, you are important to the young people who live there. You are visible during your work and you have an exemplary function. In your role you contribute to a safe and well-maintained living environment.

As a facility employee / caretaker you support the preparation and delivery of the houses, solving malfunctions, periodic checks of the houses and you take preventive measures to prevent defects, damage and malfunctions. At the (regional) offices you carry out minor maintenance work and internal relocations, such as workplaces and cable management. We work with the Topdesk facility program for passing on requests, reports and malfunctions. 

Job requirements

  • VMBO-T/MBO work and thinking level, preferably in the direction of electrical engineering.
  • Technical insight and knowledge of guidelines regarding safety, including NEN 3140, working conditions, environment and quality.
  • BHV diploma, or willing to follow this.
  • You are sociable, genuinely interested in others and you have good communication skills.
  • You have a service-oriented attitude and you like to get things done.
  • You find it a challenge to share your knowledge and experience with the living young people.
  • You have a driver's license and your own car.

 

Working conditions

  • Salary and other employment conditions are regulated in the Collective Labor Agreement for Youth Care.
  • The gross monthly salary for a full-time employment of 36 hours is a minimum of € 2,092 and a maximum of € 2,959 (scale 5).
  • You will also receive an end-of-year bonus of 8.3%.
  • The appointment is initially for a period of one year.
