The Boeing Company is looking for an F-15 Mid-Level Industrial Engineer (mid-career) to support F-15 Training Systems in Hazelwood, MO. This position will partner with manufacturing and is an exciting opportunity to establish and grow Industrial Engineering principles from the ground up. A professional in this field constantly reviews the allocation of resources, analyzes productivity, and seeks out ways to maximize production while minimizing cost.  This demanding position presents challenging and rewarding opportunities that never fail to engage intellectual curiosity and push the edge of innovative thinking.  The success of the IE has a direct correlation to the success of the program they support.

In this role, you will be developing shop floor operating schedules, capacity planning, and shop health metrics. You will also lead the use of engineering methods to support the development of optimal process designs and efficient utilization of resources (e.g., facilities, personnel, materials, and equipment) in the creation and validation of products.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Applies advanced Industrial Engineering concepts, techniques, analysis, and decision tools to promote and implement changes in manufacturing, engineering, and service operations.

  • Independently develops models, databases, and spreadsheets to analyze data (e.g., statistics, operations research, and engineering economics) and provides summary analysis and metrics for customer consultation (e.g., management, departments, suppliers).

  • Applies advanced industrial engineering techniques and concepts to product and process design teams throughout the product lifecycle, resulting in a robust product design and work statement that meets program requirements.

  • Researches, designs, develops, improves, and implements processes to enhance schedule performance, lower cost, and improve quality by applying advanced LEAN and other Industrial Engineering concepts for large-scale systems integration and asset utilization.

  • Independently manages, defines, negotiates, and controls the scope, cost, and timing of projects and performs risk analysis using project management tools (e.g., work break-down structure, precedence network, and resource allocation).

  • Ensures projects are complete within budget.

  • Utilizes advanced engineering methods (e.g., mathematical models, simulation, statistics) to develop optimal process designs and efficient utilization of resources (e.g., facilities, personnel, materials, equipment) to create and validate products.

  • Analyzes and designs value stream, including capability, capacity (e.g., make/buy, supplier selection, risk analysis, supplier performance), throughput, workflow, and logistics (e.g., critical path, lead-time, transportation, factory layout).

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.  

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelors Degree or higher in an engineering or science related field

  • 3+ years’ experience in operations/production

  • 3+ years of experience working with cross-functional or cross-organizational teams to develop and implement plans, schedules, or solutions

  • Experience with GOLDesp

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience interfacing with senior and executive leadership

  • Proficient in structured problem solving

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel

  • Strong analytical skills

Typical Education/Experience: 

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years\' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years\' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
