Shift

Rotating 12 hour shift that rotates between days and nights every other week.

Role of Position
This role is responsible for operating extruder in conformance to all food safety, safety, and quality specifications.

Principal Accountabilities
· Properly set-up extruder as needed for each product
· Operate extruder as needed to maintain scheduled production rates and quality standards.
· Maintain sanitation standards in work area
· Properly shut down extruder
· Adjust dryers as needed to maintain moisture standards
· Select correct fats, digest and powders; and operate coating system as needed.
· Keep production records as required
· Observe and follow all safety practices and standards.
· This position monitors quality and food safety control points and makes corrective actions to the process if needed.
· Know and understand the site's CCP's and report any findings of deficiencies to site's quality manager.
· Associate is responsible for communicating and elevating any quality and food safety concerns to site management.

Key Functional Skills/Knowledge
· Communicate appropriate information to coworkers and supervisors. Work as a member of a team.
· Proper set up for various products
· Ability to read and understand written instructions
· Ability to recognize various fats, digests, powders and valves and switches on coating system. Comprehension of finished product bin configuration, batching and mill room operation.
· Ability to understand and achieve job standards in regards to productivity, quality and waste; Ability to lift up to 55 lbs.
· Ability to work in a fast paced manufacturing environment with various schedules

Desired Work Experience
· High School diploma and 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
