The Executive Director, WW Oncology Commercial Strategy and Forecasting is a thought-partner for Oncology Commercial leadership who provides strategic guidance and data-driven insights to help shape the most critical therapeutic-area decisions.  This critical leader who leverages disruptive and strategic thinking to engineer greater Commercial success, improves value to our patients, and impacts the future development strategies across the Oncology teams, in support of multiple senior leaders and ensures that we chart an achievable path forward for the therapeutic areas.  The role will partner (along with the US/WW department lead) to enable various LT members to shape the internal/external company ‘narrative’ by providing the right insights to formalize effective & strategic “talking-points”

This leader will serve as a key integration point for the synthesis & alignment of US & ex-US forecasts into WW views of the various portfolio outcome scenarios and provide real-time scenario assessments around the evolving internal/external environments for the >50 potential future indication launches across the Oncology pipeline.  They will establish aspirational yet defendable revenue expectations for the Oncology Portfolio (over 200 individual opportunities), ensure full transparency around global TA business risks & opportunities, and identify actionable levers to activate upside Commercial potential.  Additionally, this role is responsible to establish a single-source of consolidated TA ‘Commercial truth’, through a disciplined and consistent approach to seamlessly integrating Forecasting, Competitive Intelligence & Market Research insights – leading to actionable scenario-planning of potential outcomes.

The Executive Director, WW Oncology Commercial Strategy and Forecasting will maximize worldwide TA-specific Commercial launch success and optimize go-to-market strategies by enabling enterprise-wide sharing of key launch learnings and best-practices while also partner with the broader BI&A organization to create and promote a global culture of diversity & inclusion, develop exciting insight & analytic career paths, and ensure appropriate levels of technical capability and subject matter expertise exists across all levels/functions/geographies .

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of >10 team members (including BMS headcount and full-time consultants) across the all Oncology Commercial teams - who provide strategic insight & scenario-planning guidance for direct/indirect support of company leaders.
  • Work directly with leader - to create clear, reliable, and impactful “talking points” for both internal & external communications – including prep for all analyst meetings & conferences
  • Responsible for transparent and defendable revenue valuations in support of all Oncology Solid Tumor-related BD transaction work
  • Responsible for generating & representing all analytics in support of ongoing GT process/governance interactions (e.g., GT4s/GT5s) across the entire Oncology Solid Tumor portfolio
  • Generate & dynamically-maintain >200 long-range product forecasts, spanning >10 tumors in support of the LTFP, the R&D Portfolio Optimization process, as well as long-range Sustainability efforts
  • Help drive Portfolio Strategy analytics work (e.g., Oncology Integrated Tumor X) in support of annual corporate strategic-planning efforts
  • Responsible for consistently generating & communicating a detailed understanding of the WW Commercial performance of all Solid Tumor Oncology products
  • Partner with leader to develop aspirational budget/projection “targets”, and help translate these into actionable forecasting guidance that can be used by Commercial markets around the world
  • Drive Product Design & Delivery (PD&D) analytics work in support of future dosing & delivery designs for products across the Oncology portfolio
  • Help embed and maintain a single high-performing BI&A “culture” across the team, across individual TA teams, and across legacy BMS/Celgene employees
  • Responsible for help to adopt and fully embed new forecasting capabilities developed by the team’s Capability Lead
  • Ensure the consistent use of industry-leading forecasting approaches & methodologies across the entire product portfolio
  • Drive the effective synthesis of Analytics and Customer Insights work product through transparency, inclusiveness and pursuit of diverse perspectives
  • Partner to create and foster an approach to developing seamless collaborative cross-functional analytics teams/and holistic cross-customer analysis
  • Understand, demonstrate, and drive adherence to all BMS operating policies

Qualifications & Experience:

  • BA/BS required (quantitative area of study preferred)
  • MBA/other graduate degree preferred
  • 7+ Years Pharmaceutical Experience
  • Extensive experience working across the Oncology portfolio
  • Ability to synthesize complex information sets & successfully communicate simply to the senior TA leaders – leading to smart & data-driven decision making
  • Experience operating successfully in a complex organizational environment
  • Experience interacting with senior management, understanding, anticipating, and fulfilling their insight/ analytical information requirements
  • Extensive experience in the application of forecasting, advanced analytics and reporting techniques to solve business problems
  • Ability to effectively communicate with & strategically impact therapeutic area leaders
  • Proven track-record of seamlessly managing multiple individuals across an organization
  • Draw inferences from disparate pieces of data, identify key findings and link to implications and provide recommendations
  • Strong creative problem solving skills to answer key business questions
  • Strong project management skills with demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects and priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to quickly gain and apply therapeutic knowledge
  • Ability to learn new tools quickly
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with diverse teams across organizational lines and structures
  • Proven knowledge of medical or healthcare marketplace dynamics
  • Proven ability to lead teams, influence cross-functionally and manage a heavy workload
  • Experience with forecasting/analytics, modeling platforms, data manipulation software and visualization tools (e.g. SAS, Tableau, Microsoft Suite and MicroStrategy) Familiarity with BMS proprietary applications, including forecasting and financial systems a significant plus
