Executive Director, Worldwide Oncology commercial strategy
We are looking for
A strong leader with outstanding ability to mobilize a matrix organization to lead the development of disease area strategies, as part of the overall oncology franchise business. The Worldwide Oncology commercial strategy Executive Director will drive the strategy development process end-to-end, in full collaboration with asset-specific leaders. Additionally, this individual will be responsible for engaging senior leadership and presenting disease area strategies. We are looking for a dynamic, performance-driven leader who cultivates a team-based, collaborative environment which promotes candor, innovation, and appropriate risk taking.
Who you will work with
The Executive Director, reports to the Vice President of Commercial Strategy, and works collaboratively across a matrix organization inclusive of Discovery, Translational Medicine, Early development, Clinical, Medical, Business Development, Business Insights and Analytics, and Worldwide Commercial.
Primary responsibilities
Lead the development and continuous updating/refining of BMS oncology disease area strategies across assets.
The Executive Director will accomplish this by:
Fostering strong collaborative working relationships across R&D, Enterprise strategy, Business development, and commercial organizations.
Effectively analyzing and synthesizing market trends, competitive landscape, external innovation landscape, clinical development space, and early scientific innovation.
Delivering strategy presentations to senior Leadership Teams/Governance
In addition, this role will lead and/or support portfolio level/pan tumor projects as needed including providing input/support to the Portfolio Strategy team members developing the overall Oncology Franchise wide strategic plan.
Qualifications and Experience
Advanced Degree Preferred (MD or PhD) or MBA.
Minimum of 8-10 years of pharmaceutical industry experience, with 2+ years of commercial experience.
Strong ability to understand and communicate scientific and clinical data effectively.
Proven track record of effectively and efficiently driving performance within a matrix organization with strong organizational, interpersonal, communication skills and executive collaboration required.
Personal integrity; passionate, energetic and focused on the company and mission
Listens/considers alternative ideas, viewpoints and encourages debate on others' ideas
Capacity to grow, develop and learn from experiences.
Consulting experience is recommended but not required.
Understanding of the oncology marketplace is preferred but not required.
