Position Summary
The Executive Director, Worldwide Established Brands, LOE Planning will be responsible for developing and driving the execution of the Global LOE Playbook for BMS. The position is responsible for working in partnership with cross-functional and in-market partners (e.g., WW Brand Teams, R&D, Medical, Business Insights & Analytics, Value, Access, and Pricing (VAP), Global Product Supply, Commercial Capabilities, etc.)
The role will lead the application and adaptation of the LOE playbook with help of cross-functional and in-market partners to develop strategies and approaches, develop robust LOE plans, drive execution of said plans, and codify learnings that can be applied to BMS’ mid to late life cycle portfolio. The scope of the role will include exploring levers such as patient centered innovation (e.g., packaging, new formulations, combinations, drug delivery, digital therapeutics, etc.), alternative go to market models, pricing GOA, supply chain optimization, new studies (e.g., real world data, HEOR, clinical, etc.), IP, and business development to enhance the value of the portfolio.
Roles & Responsibilities
Lead the development of the global LOE playbook for BMS in partnership with global/regional matrix and in-market partners that defines the process for LOE planning, scope of strategies and tactics, captures learnings, and clearly articulates timelines, roles & responsibilities to maximize the value of our late life cycle portfolio
Continuously updates and evolves playbook based on in-market execution and learnings
Lead LOE planning with WW Brand teams, Medical, Global Product Supply, R&D, IP Legal, Commercial Capabilities, HEOR, and Value, Access, and Pricing (VAP) to develop LOE strategies/plans and identify opportunities that will enhance long-term value of our mid to late life-cycle brands; Lead the global implementation and evaluation of LOE strategies/plans in partnership with matrix functions
Lead LOE planning with in-market teams and global/regional matrix partners to leverage and adapt the LOE playbook to develop robust market specific LOE plans that enhance the long-term value of our mid-late life cycle brands, oversee worldwide execution, monitor performance of plans, and develop mitigation strategies where needed
Partner with Global Product Supply, WW Brand Teams, and Worldwide Regulatory to identify strategies and opportunities for mid to late life-cycle brands that help prepare for LOE by reducing COGS through SKU rationalization, network optimization, new formulations, and enhance processes that can strengthen and optimize the brand P&L
Partner with Business Development to identify and evaluate opportunities that include in-licensing, out-licensing, and divestitures that deliver long-term enterprise value
Partner with WW EB team members to support key projects related to LOEs and Established Brands
Ensure all strategies, plans, and tactics are in line with legal and compliance requirements
Requirements
BA/BS required; life sciences degree or equivalent desirable, MBA/graduate degree preferred. 8-10 years of industry experience and a minimum of 10-15 years required. Scientific background / acumen highly preferred. Sales and marketing leadership, with P&L management preferred
Experience with managing and maximizing late life cycle products and successfully competing against generics with established brands required
Extensive global experience and expertise across multiple therapeutic areas with exposure across both retail and institutional channel will be highly desirable
Knowledge/experience of global healthcare systems, market archetypes, and go-to-market models
Individual should have proven track record demonstrating breadth and depth across marketing competencies, BMS values and exemplary achievement of performance objectives
Demonstrated experience in leading strategically, driving performance, communicating with impact, and creating a strong, inclusive, energizing culture
Experience in mobilizing matrix team members, embracing teamwork within a cross functional environment will be critical
