The Company Secretarial global function (of 230+ FTEs) is led by the Group Company Secretary & Chief Governance Officer and reports directly to the Group Chairman. 

We are currently seeking experienced individuals to join the team in the roles of Event Manager – 12-month secondment / FTC.

The Global Events team is part of the Group Strategy and Planning function. The respective role is to plan and execute events on different scales and levels for the Group, as well as the Chairman, Group CEO and his senior management team, and also for Global Banking and Markets through one coordinated and Global Event Team to ensure all activities are run in a professional, timely and consistent manner. To ensure that all proprietary events enhance the Group's profile and showcase HSBC as one of the world’s leading brands.

Your responsibilities will include:

⦁    Provide advice and support to senior management and the business on the most efficient and cost effective way to achieve maximum meeting/ presentation opportunities with clients;
⦁    Act as central / liaison point between business areas, external clients and organisations regarding our involvement and participation at proprietary and third party events;
⦁    Ensure constant adherence and maintenance to pre-agreed budgets, cost measures and record keeping;
⦁    Ensure all events as led are run in professional manner, ensuring such events are seen as high quality events and do not result in serious reputational damage to the bank;
⦁    Ensure all deliverable across regions are carrying the same standard disregarding physical location.
 

Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

⦁    Proven track record in managing and developing conferences and events, preferably in the global banking industry is essential;
⦁    Ability to lead medium to large scale events autonomously when required;
⦁    Ability to work under pressure, extreme tight timeline as well as on multiple tasks simultaneously;
⦁    Ability to work with different teams and time zones across the globe on different projects;
⦁    Ability to form effective relationships and liaise with the senior management in the organisation.

The base location for this role is 8CS, London.
