Position Summary:
Successful candidate’s primary role will be to assist the Manager, Ethanol Trade Risk. Primary functions in this role will be evaluating and executing forward crush positions, trading gateway physical and paper markets, interacting with brokers and counterparties, and arbitraging around ADM’s asset base.
The Trader will also develop current and potential ethanol customers, ranging from large oil companies to small gasoline retailers and will be expected to visit customer offices, establish relationships with customer personnel, and work to develop last right of refusal on customers ethanol trading needs. Assisting with execution of ethanol exports will also be required. Candidate will work closely with IT, Credit, Tech Services, CSR, and the Ethanol Trading Team to meet ADM and customer requirements efficiently and effectively.
Ideal candidate must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures of commodity merchandising. A successful employee will develop a strong understanding of ADM’s ethanol production capabilities, infrastructure, and logistical systems. The trader will also define and understand customers, competitors, and dynamics that affect ethanol markets in North America.
