Would you relish the chance to use your unique skills set and experience to shape and deliver the future land management one of our most pioneering and precious estates? We have an opportunity for an experienced Rural Practice Chartered Surveyor to look after the Wallington Estate in Northumberland.
You’ll be working in beautiful rural Northumberland on our Wallington Estate of some 3,733 ha of which over 90% is let, with a mix of traditional agricultural tenancies, leased forestry, and an estate village. We have an exciting vision to transform the Wallington Estate into a place that delivers for people and nature, including landscape scale nature recovery, restoration of natural processes and wildlife habitats, and where people can enjoy peace and tranquility in an estate that is rich in nature and history.
You’ll build on established strong foundations, and take on unique, interesting estate management work and associated projects that will shape the future of the UK’s biggest private landowner and the properties it owns and looks after. You will be instrumental in delivering the vision for Wallington, working with the Project Team and other Estate Management professionals. You will have the opportunity to combine your solid professional knowledge with creative thinking which shapes the future of Wallington.
No two days are the same for a National Trust Estate Manager, and the variety this brings is what makes it so challenging and exciting. You could be helping a tenant farmer discover new value from a more sustainable approach to their business. You might also be part of a team of specialists mapping out ways we’ll make our landscapes more resilient to change. Or you could be working with consultants on a major maintenance or renovation project for an historic estate building.
You’ll work in collaboration with a large and varied group of internal and external stakeholders, so we’re looking for someone who enjoys and is able to use their technical and personal skills in order to build strong and lasting relationships.
