We are looking for an experienced product technologist to work on ASOS’s Beauty department.
You will be an expert in Beauty and Cosmetics compliance and quality, and you will work to ensure our Beauty range is the best it possibly can be for our twenty-something, beauty-loving customers.
What you’ll be doing…
- Support and guidance of legislative responsibilities and registration requirements and processes for cosmetics within EU, US and other international jurisdictions
- Be the main point of technical and compliance contact on all areas covered by Beauty department
- Working with Compliance to guide us on sector relevant policies, i.e., develop our brand position with regard to ingredients, processes, animal testing and industry recognised certifications
- Working with wider group on ‘responsibility’ issues such as marketing of diversity related topics (age/disability/skin tone, etc.), interfacing with NGOs and stakeholders as needed
- Supporting head of to work with Sourcing and Ethical teams on the selection of suppliers to meet future need
- Supporting branded product areas with consultation on policy matters and entering new markets
- Implementing routine regulatory processes related to product information files, routine testing, supporting product ‘claims’
- Reviewing & maintaining policies
- Investigating customer queries and handling product recall processes including, where necessary managing queries with Customer Care, internal PR team, regulators and/or Trading Standards (or equivalent authorities).
- Developing and agreement of content for technical policies
- Producing an implementation plan for the policies
- Developing a stakeholder map and engagement plan to ensure that the policies are considering external stakeholder expectations. The map will consider external stakeholders such as NGOs, media and consumer interest groups and competitor activity
Qualifications
We’d love to meet someone who has experience in the following…
- Product copy and pack labelling (incl. language translation requirements)
- Experience of Chemicals management
- Cosmetic Product information file
- Stability testing
- Microbiological testing
- Claim substantiation
- Product release for sale
- In market vigilance and product incident management
- Serious Undesirable Effects procedure in the event of complaints relating to severe reactions.
- Product sustainability
- Animal welfare and testing
- Change and deviation control
- Relevant degree or qualification in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, etc.
