ER (Employee Relations) Case Investigator £28,800 £35,000 plus benefits (Work Level 6A) Remote-based home working with occasional travel across the North of England (business private mileage will be reimbursed) Secondment / fixed term contract until the end of December 2022
We’re looking for a motivated ER investigator to join our ER Services team to support our food business. You’ll support on a wide range of complex ER cases including grievances, investigations, and appeals. If you can bring us previous ER experience, as well as great written and verbal communication skills, then we can offer you the opportunity to make valuable contributions and gain great exposure across a business that puts people at the heart of its strategy.
What you’ll do:
• work alongside our ER Services team as part of our shared service model • conduct a wide range of complex employee relations investigations and other ER related meetings within agreed timescales and in line with our quality framework (mainly remotely but some travel may be required) • lead the various process with detailed and careful listening, questioning and probing, as well as providing effective note-taking • challenge and influence partners and handle their expectations • prepare comprehensive investigation case files including recommendations based on facts, any mitigating circumstances and policy/legal implications following best practice and using your own judgement • effectively prioritise and advance cases where necessary • accurately draft detailed letters such as grievance outcomes • support the provision of insight to the business from the cases that you have been involved with
This role would suit people who have: • a proven understanding of ER processes and employment legislation • practical experience of holding investigations and other ER related meetings • strong attention to detail and strong written and communication skills • the ability to build strong working relationships with partners • strong organisational and prioritisation skills and the ability to balance multiple cases at the same time • strong interpersonal skills and who can quickly build rapport
