Job Description

Aviva pricing development team provides technical actuarial expertise for our equity release business: reviewing and proposing changes to assumptions used in pricing, understanding capital requirements of the business, designing and developing models to be used by the pricing team (and the wider business) and working with the finance teams in understanding and monitoring reported results.

This role gives the successful applicant the opportunity to be actively involved with the day-to-day running, and the implementation of the long-term strategy, of the Equity Release business. This is a great job for someone who is qualified or a nearly qualified Actuary or qualified for role by similar experience. Specific experience of Equity Release not essential.

A bit about the job:

The successful candidate will report to the Equity Release Pricing Development Lead and will be expected to take responsibility for designing and building models to optimise price setting and profitability tracking, in the most user-friendly and efficient way and reviewing and developing the assumptions and models used in the day-to-day management of new business within the Equity Release business. You will be adaptable to work on new things as they come up.

You will have exposure to a wide range of departments within UK Life including customer operations, distribution, IT, finance and life analytics teams, modelling team and the annuity business and should form good working relationships with these areas.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written – ability to credibly communicate complex issues simply, across all levels
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail / controls focus
  • Good Knowledge of reporting metrics and SII requirements, or willingness to learn
  • Good Excel modelling skills
