DESCRIPTION

Our team is seeking a Site Environmental Technician (SET) who will responsible for managing environmental compliance at Amazon Transportation Services (ATS) Facilities in Spain.

Responsibilities: The SET will assist in implementation and enforcement of standards and policies to support environmental and regulatory compliance and provide guidance for operations, maintenance and construction teams The individual will complete environmental inspections and performance analysis, monitor metrics, undertake waste activities for the site and facilitate site implementation of Amazon environmental standards This role will report to the Regional Environmental Engineer (REE) / Regional Environmental Manager (REM) for the United Kingdom for ATS The SET will occasionally support three additional sites; the role will require frequent travels (typically 50% of the time)The SET will be responsible for site execution of environmental procedures and ensure compliance with all applicable specific country, state/province, region and local regulations Manage and execute site responsibilities to comply with air emissions, surface water, wastewater, waste and other environmental related laws, regulations and permits Manage and prepare site specific environmental reporting to regulators and within Amazon. -Manage and execute waste management activities, classification, reporting and permitting requirements Execute waste , surface water site inspections Monitor and provide guidance on site performance against applicable environmental regulations, programs and Amazon global standards Support other ATS sites with environmental compliance Ensure site leadership and employees are trained Analyse environmental metrics and review weekly and monthly trends to determine where improvements are needed Execute site specific tasks associated with the implementation of Environmental Programs Support the REE /REM in Measuring and analysing sites performance against published requirements in environmental policies For all deficiencies, identify a plan for the site to implement and fix all identified deficienciesExecute relevant environmental procedures as dictated by business and regulatory needs Execute site environmental action plan development for any deficiencies noted from trends, audits and inspections Support the REE/REM in Evaluating and developing process improvements for identified risksSupport the REE /REM with Facilitating root cause analyses for all environmental incidents and recommend appropriate corrective actions for network implementation Show initiative to identify and implement corrective actions to eliminate any observed non-compliance or potential non-compliance situations.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS 

Fluent in Spanish and EnglishRelevant degree gained within chemical or environmental engineer or related environmental field.Knowledgeable in Spanish regulations Must be detailed minded and technically oriented to comfortably deep dive with engineering teams to understand operations process for environmental risk assessment.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge in adjacent legal areas (occupational and fire protection, energy law)Extensive experience as an environmental management officer (ISO14001 and / or EMAS) including safe handling of authorities and auditors Experience in warehouse operations and logistics is preferred Proficient in Microsoft Office and the use of pivot tables and the development of charts and graphics Environmental experience or working as an environmental technician, environmental specialist.Ability to manage multiple sites
