That’s why we’re on a search for an Environmental Sustainability Analyst. This amazing analyst executes our projects and programs that are focused on reducing the waste, water and carbon impact that are produced by our operational processes and buildings. It’s a role designed to ensure our footprint on this earth is light, and our impact is positive. Best of all, this specialist gets to lead programs that stretch across the expanse of our business, touching multiple levels and functional areas through influence and personal accountability. What You’ll Do
At Cox Automotive, we’re ambitious in our efforts to reduce the impact our waste, water and carbon emission have on the environment. We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished and are eager to continually do better. As our Sustainability Lead, you’ll work closely with our Sustainability Director on initiatives that impact these areas. What does that look like exactly? Here are some of the responsibilities that come with your eco-friendly role:
You’ll…
Provide support and program execution for our strategic plan development, with a keen eye on how it affects Cox Automotive operations.
Assist in the development and implementation of our waste minimization strategies so we can reach our Cox Conserves Zero Waste to Landfill goal.
Support the ongoing development and implementation of our water neutrality strategies, specifically with our Manheim production operations and car washing efforts.
Give your impressive energies to our employee engagement strategies and plans, so we can continue to keep our employees engaged and committed to supporting our Cox Conserves sustainability goals and initiatives.
Partner with internal Cox Automotive teams to implement strategies that will engage clients and incorporate sustainability into our ongoing business ops.
Keep our leaders and decision makers dialed in with regular communications and pertinent presentations.
Keep relationships strong with folks like our external service providers and vendors that impact our sustainability efforts.
Support our zero waste efforts in myriad ways, from influencing leadership and tech teams and developing community solutions to establishing scorecards that measure our efforts from the site-level all the way to our national impact. You’ll also conduct business reviews with leaders from areas that affect our processes and outcomes.
Perform stakeholder site inspections, as well as training for our Zero Waste efforts to make sure we’re being compliant and managing risk.
Provide documentation that might be needed for any waste, water and carbon audits that are performed.
Oversee tours (via travel or virtually) with our market teams at various field locations so we can remain aligned and determine the best solutions with our stakeholders in these locations.
Map out project timelines and milestones to ensure deliverables and projects are on time and on target.

You’ve got…
A BS/BA degree
3+ combined years of experience required in Sustainability, Supply Chain, Business Operations, Building Management, or manufacturing
…or 1+ years of relevant experience you have a degree in environmental sustainability or process improvement
Rock solid skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams, and project management and planning software
The ability to manage innovation and change, scaling best practices from ideation to launch, as well as maintenance across diverse markets
A talent for organizing, analyzing, interpreting and sharing information
Supersized skills in areas like cost and risk management, interpersonal communication, analytics and decision making.
Operational understanding of Zero Waste to Landfill, carbon and water with the ability to lead cross-functional teams, gain alignment, establish and improve on key performance metrics
While not a must, we’d love it if you could check a few of the following boxes as well:
BS/BA degree in a related discipline, like Sustainability, Business, Finance, or Environmental Science
MBA or other relevant advanced degree
Diverse experience across arenas such as Supply Chain, Business Operations, Technology/Engineering, Account Management/Business Development, Sales Operations, Customer/Client Service and/or Vendor Management
Experience collecting and analyzing data, including developing and calibrating metrics
Experience with complex problem solving and analysis using statistical methods and financial modeling
Experience with the design and operation of complex operating processes
Experience in process operations or manufacturing business
Proven root cause analysis, process improvement and process management skills
Lean Six Sigma certification
TRUE Certified designation
Project management certification
Location is flexible, but selected candidate shall be based at one of Manheim’s auto auctions.
