Long Description

This position will perform a combination of Network, Security and implementation work, as well as enhancements to current products.  The core activities include customer liaison, Diagnosis, Audits, investigation into vulnerability’s, planning and implementing of change and offering technical advice/ support to customers. The engineer will be a proven trouble-shooter with an excellent understanding of the network elements with strong analytical networking skills, ideally with a cross skill of Network and Security devices such as  Palo Alto, Checkpoint, ISE firewalls, Cisco, Alcatel routers and switches would be an added advantage.


 
Key Accountabilities:
•    Configure, implement and maintain all security platforms and their associates, such as routers, switches, firewalls, intrusion detection/intrusion prevention  systems. 
•    Review and ongoing assessment of firewall, intrusion detection/intrusion prevention, VPN, SSL, application control, and other network component policies. 
•    Daily triage, and update/resolution of tickets generated by ticketing system and respond to inbound electronic requests for technical assistance. 
•    Ensure network security best practices are implemented through auditing: router, switch, firewall configurations, change control, and monitoring. 
•    Formulate systems and methodologies as well as respond to security related events and assist in remediation efforts 
•    Coordinate, and monitor log analysis for our managed services offerings, to ensure customer policy and security requirements are met. 
•    Manage all client situations in a professional and courteous business manner with an emphasis on customer satisfaction, while timely keeping the customer abreast of expectations, problem status and completion. 
•    Liaise between management, engineering and other departments. 
•    Working to predefined SLA’s & KPI’s
•    Demonstrated understanding of information security concepts, standards, practices, including but not limited to firewalls, intrusion prevention and detection, TCP/IP and related protocols, device monitoring and log management and event monitoring/reporting. Troubleshooting and resolution of incidents, working to critical SLA’s
•    Configuration and routine housekeeping, including Change management and incident Management. Maintaining accurate logs via ticketing systems
•    Planning and implementing of customer and internal changes, based around an ITIL framework.  
•    Taking an active role in your own development and working towards gaining industry recognized certification in the core products supported in addition to developing other technical and interpersonal skills. Ability to learn on the job with a view to managing new operating systems and technologies.
•    It is expected to work in shifts round the clock (including night shifts)

Long Description

Behavioral/ Personality Specifications required:
•    Good communication skills. 
•    Team player
•    Desired Profile: - 
o    2-3 years’ experience of working on  firewalls
o    Basic Routing and switching experience.
o    Excellent customer communication skills
•    Proven troubleshooting ability
•    Capable of prioritizing and managing high volume workloads from multiple sources, working to strict SLA’s 
•    Knowledge of security network devices (firewalls, switches, cryptography, etc.) and other security networking hardware/software tools.
•    Experience and Knowledge of  LAN and WAN technologies, network design, network management etc.
