Our technology teams in the UK work closely with HSBC’s global businesses to help design and build digital services that allow our millions of customers around the world, to bank quickly, simply and securely. We also run and manage our IT infrastructure, data centres and core banking systems that power the world’s leading international bank.

Our multi-disciplined teams include: DevOps engineers, IT architects, front and back end developers, infrastructure specialists, cyber experts, as well as project and programme managers.

We work in small, agile DevOps teams with colleagues around the world.

Following extensive investment across our Technology and Digital domains, we are currently seeking a number of experienced Enterprise Security Architect to join HSBC Technology.

Wholesale Technology supports HSBC’s business capabilities in trade and receivables financing, liquidity and cash management, capital financing and investment banking, payments, and credit and lending for corporate and institutional clients covering over 50 key global locations.

What you will be doing;

  • Working with Cyber and central security architecture define a security strategy to support the IT initiative is within Wholesale bank
  • Provide end-to-end ownership of security solutions delivered to meet requirements, delivering the architecture required to realize both functional and non-functional capabilities that aligns to the overall security architecture.
  • Provide oversight of WSIT projects to ensure alignment to security architecture and correct consideration of cyber security has been factored into designs.
  • Ability to create clear, concise proposals for solutions and brokering agreement across multiple stakeholders. Strong experience of working with stakeholders across multiple disciplines; business analysts, product owners, testing teams and wider technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrates excellent situational awareness and ability to appropriately react to a changing landscape
  • Performance driven nature and excellent problem solving capability
  • Manage a small team of security architects
  • Ability to understand and further explain complex technical concepts
  • Design scalable, secure and resilient solutions utilizing standard enterprise-grade infrastructure solutions.
  • Design scalable, secure and resilient solutions utilizing cloud technologies (private/hybrid/public).
  • Deep knowledge of container based systems such as docker, kubernetes and cloud foundry

Requirements

What you will bring to the role; 

  • Experience in an enterprise environment including an understanding of traditional processes and procedures and how they may impact a digital transformation.
  • Securing highly available internet banking application.
  • Solution architecture skills required. Ability to produce Solution design documents with UML diagrams.
  • Knowledge of client side applications and microservices architecture.
  • Familiar with microservices and REST based API’s
  •  Knowledge of both relational and noSQL database technologies
  • Ability to create clear, concise proposals for solutions and brokering agreement across multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong experience of working with stakeholders across multiple disciplines; business analysts, product owners, testing teams and wider technical stakeholders.
  •  Experience of automating processes and procedures end-to-end.

 

To be successful in this role you should have proven experience within the Technology sector with knowledge of the following skills:

  • Ability to understand and further explain complex technical concepts
  • Understanding of modern development and associated tooling, integration, technology, patterns and practices to design, build and continuously improve an automated end-to-end factory for software delivery, through the route-to-live and into production.
  • Experience of CI/D pipelines, modern deployment and release methodologies including automated configuration and provisioning at scale.
  • Experience with Identity and Access Management, OAUTH2, JWT, SSO, SAML, PKI, Certificate management
  • Forgerock experience essential.

This role will primarily be based in London or another UK base location, some travel may be required.
