Job Summary:
Installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and provides preventative maintenance of all physical security devices and systems throughout the Cox Organization. Technical expert with advanced knowledge of physical security systems and devices
- Access Control systems (Honeywell ProWatch hardware and Software)
- IP Video products installation, programming and configuration (Avigilon cameras and servers)
- Video Analytic configuration
- Biometric access devices (Morpho Sigma and Wave)
- Physical Access Barriers (Boon Edam Speed Lane and Revolving doors)
- Knowledge of low-voltage security devices, relays, sensors, electronic locking hardware, and mechanical devices
- Be willing to travel as needed and perform other job duties as assigned
Job Responsibilities (Major responsibilities of the job):
- Install and maintain electronic security systems (Electronic access control system and all associated hardware, CCTV, Intercoms, Intrusion detection and various other physical security integrated systems)
- Responsible for project management, coordination, installation, quality assurance of upgrades and conversions or servicing of, electronic access control, closed circuit TV, alarm systems, and other physical security systems.
- Maintain, coordinate, install and/or upgrade physical security applications
- Maintains inventory of supplies, parts and stock, including purchasing of tools and equipment
- Participate in review of design documentation and system for installation activities
- Execute installation and maintenance activities within planned durations
- Complete high-quality device and component installation and maintenance activities
- Participate in configuration of servers, workstations, panels and other programmable components under supervision
- Execute testing to verify high quality installations
- Execute testing to identify and correct system problems at component and system levels as part of system sustainment activities
- Install system cabling and conduit
- Terminate and test system cabling and all components
- Install equipment racks, enclosures, panels and all mounting hardware components
- Responds to emergency calls, evaluating damages and takes necessary steps to protect customers, employees and property. When directed, may assume role in emergency response.
- Solicits proposals for maintenance repairs, will verify and sign vendor work orders when work is complete.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors
Job Qualifications – Experience/Education/Training:
Required:
- HS diploma or GED
- 5+ years in a similar type role of security expertise within a large company environment
- Completed basic Microsoft training in Word, Outlook, Excel, Microsoft Project
- Strong verbal communication and writing skills
Desired Skills:
- Certified systems integrator formally trained in:
- Honeywell ProWatch
- Avigilon Video
- Immix SureView
- Biometric access management systems
- Certifications in IT related hardware/software:
- Networking infrastructure
- Databases creation and management
- Software application management
- Attention to detail in the execution of Performance Verification Tests
- Ability to oversee and manage small to medium sized security projects
- Troubleshoot and repair electronic security systems, electronic gates and turnstiles as needed
Job Requirements – Knowledge and/or Specific Skills Necessary to do the Job:
- Strong oral, written and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of relevant software and hardware applications related to Physical Security (i.e. ProWatch, Immix, Sur-Gard, and all Microsoft Office programs.
- Proven self-starter, who requires minimal supervision.
- Requires leadership, teamwork, adaptability, problem-solving skills and customer service including communications skills and timely responsiveness.
