As the Enterprise Architect, IoT/Edge Computing Domain Lead, you will be responsible for driving customer and business value through leading the strategy and execution of enterprise architecture adoption and technology selection. You will be in a key influential leadership role to help shape and enable the RIS Architecture & Software organization's strategy and contribute to the overall Roche Diagnostics vision. u00A0

You will provide effective leadership by influence for the team in a manner that is consistent with the Roche values and leadership commitments. You will seek to inspire and influence teams to create transformative solutions ensuring that Information Solutions products are recognized as being the best in the Diagnostics industry and maintain our #1 ranking in the future.

Reporting to the Head of Enterprise Architecture & Technology Office in Roche Information Solutions (RIS), you will primarily partner with the rest of the Engineering Organization across Diagnostics division to deliver customer centric solutions. u00A0

This position can be remote anywhere within the US.

This role can also be based in Pune, India.

Alternatively, be based in Europe within these locations - Rotkreuz or Basel or Kaiseraugst, Switzerland, Penzberg or Potsdam, Germany, and in Sant Cugat del Valles, Spain.

In this role, you will:

• Responsible to technically lead a large scale product portfolio or a specific technology domain, defining the technology strategy to sustainably deliver a product line

• Act as a subject matter expert for their technology domain / area, mentoring and guiding the teams

• Responsible for developing and delivering new designs, including identifying and assessing technology options (build, buy, partner)

• Accountable for common architecture roadmap and onboarding, common assets oversight, Toolkit and Integration APIs

• Influence and engage internal customers across all of Roche Diagnostics teams and drive fast and consistent adoption of common architecture framework

• Publicize and develop a collaboration model for the common architecture framework adoption at all levels of the organization

• Responsible for standardization, Tools, App Development Environments

• Proactively takes on improvement initiatives and leads process improvements (Agile, QMS alignment)

• Able to scale strategically to take on multiple projects, align across Roche Diagnostics u00A0portfolio, build and drive a technology roadmap, manage cross-functional and internal (Roche) and external stakeholders u00A0

• Contributing to the success of the global architecture function beyond business boundaries, e.g. through sharing of knowledge/ best practices, ownership of cross business programs/initiatives and market driven innovation

• Establishing and driving the community of practice across Roche Diagnostics

• Be vocal, write blogs, present at tech talks, conferences both internally and externally

Who you are:

• Bachelor's degree (Computer Science/Engineering, etc.) and 12+ years of previous software development/architecture experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience to perform at this level.

• Have successfully built, deployed, and supported an enterprise-scale web application in the cloud (in a leadership role)

• Experience in the role of an architect, leading a technical team, designing large software systems, and operating at the engineering management team level

• Hands-on software development experience u00A0

• Quick learner with the ability to understand complex workflows and develop and validate innovative solutions to solve difficult problems

• Good communicator, able to talk with stakeholders and customers to explain technology and with the proven ability to take insights from customers and translate them into technical deliverables

• Proven ability to establish and articulate a vision, set goals, develop and execute strategies, and track and measure results

• Proven experience leading software teams through collaborative technological innovation in an agile environment or continuous improvement efforts that have yielded tangible results and/or positive impact for patients or business stakeholders

• Highly developed people influencing skills; Demonstrated success in establishing a high performing environment, catalyzing We@RocheDiagnostics cultural dimensions, with an excellent reputation attracting the best talent and the commitment to developing and inspiring them

• Proven ability to create and sustain strong collaborative relationships and networks with diverse stakeholders across a complex global organization

• Familiarity with the technological trends and their relevance to the healthcare industry. A passionate and decisive business leader. Demonstrating courage, vision and drive to achieve results at the forefront of innovative technological changes

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with existing IoT offerings (AWS, Azure,...)

• Experience moving monolith applications into modern application paradigms (micro services, edge/hybrid cloud solutions, public cloud)

• Implement cost-control strategies

• Strong Networking Knowledge

• Solid knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VM, docker, container, Kubernetes, etc.

• Familiarity with IoT protocols, HL7/FHIR

• Expertise around Edge/Fog and Hybrid cloud solutions

• Experience with embedded or real-time operating systems, and/or driver/kernel development.

• Solid knowledge in at least one of following programming languages: Go, C++, Python, Java

• Experience building solutions for small factor devices

• Healthcare experience

For Colorado-based applicants, the expected salary range for this position is $156K - $202K. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits listed below.
