Following extensive investment across our Technology and Digital domains, we are currently seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect, Digital Channels, Wholesale IT to join HSBC Technology.

Business Overview

The Digital Channels team in Wholesale IT design, build and deliver online services to all of HSBCs corporate and business customers globally. This ranges from single owner businesses right through to the largest multi-national brands.  We are organised as a set of service and platform teams that work together to enable our customers to unlock their business potential. Every day the systems we operate serve millions of customers, and process millions of transactions that are critical to global and local communities everywhere.

What you will be doing;

• Working across all digital channels you define and communicate the enterprise architecture, aligning business and IT strategy, service roadmaps, and investment portfolio
• Develop target and transitional enterprise architecture, ensuring it is grounded in achievable investment and delivery roadmaps
• Working with Product and Service owners, architect peers across Wholesale, portfolio managers, and Heads of Transformation
• Introduce new practices, processes, operating model, techniques, services, technologies and standards where needed against identified use cases, via appropriate governance bodies
• Supporting the business and IT leadership you define a coherent technology change portfolio that enables delivery of strategy and then decomposing the portfolio into requirements that can be delivered through service roadmaps and investment programs
• Provide full life architecture creation support to program and product teams
• Key focus of this role will be defining and building out our next generation digital channels platform and ecosystem capabilities across the whole of Wholesale banking 

Qualifications

What you will bring to the role; 

To be successful in this role you should have proven experience within the Technology sector with knowledge of the following skills:

Experience in software and data design for distributed and high-volume transactional systems and ideally with the following technologies:

• Javascript, Java, Spring frameworks
• Microservices, including green-field design and decomposiing monolithic applications
• API Contract Design
• Database Technologies (relational, non-relational)
• Data Pipelines, AI/ML and Analytics
• Exposure to front end design frameworks (web and mobile)
• Event driven design and streaming technologies
• Other traditional messaging and integration technologies, ideally MQ and IBM Connect: Direct
• Master data management, data architecture and governance
• Software patterns for secure and self-healing systems design
• Cloud platforms and cloud migration
• People with a passion and a track record for large-scale digital transformation and the role of enterprise architecture as a practical tool in informing and guiding this journey
• Experience in Agile/DevOps/SRE, Domain Driven Design / Test Driven Design, Application Lifecycle Management tooling and CI/CD automation, Application Portfolio Management

The role will primarily be based in London but some travel maybe required.
