TITLE: Engineering Supervisor
DUTIES: Lead team of engineers and designers to effectively perform engineering analysis necessary for the production design, application and testing of axle/suspension components and systems, which will include the use of CAE tools such as CREO/Parametric and CREO/Simulate; responsible for the design quality and technical accuracy of design drawings and documents; assure compliance with stated project scope and objectives; interface directly with external customers and suppliers and internally with purchasing, sales, product managers, testing and manufacturing functions; manage all aspects of engineering products according to customer requirements with focus on coordinating project timing, costs, test plans and prototype builds; work with engineers and designers to release accurate detailed drawing packages; establish good working relationships with team members, outside suppliers, customers and various internal groups; provide leadership and mentoring for less experienced engineering staff; develop cost estimates and track department expenses according to budget; support sales and product management teams efforts to attract profitable new business awards; represent Meritor at professional engineering events and industry organizations; among other duties.
REQUIREMENTS: Five years of experience in the job offered or related. Experience must include: Experience with Off-Highway and Specialty vehicle products and systems; Experience with Planetary axles, including axle housing and planetary wheel-ends; experience with design of structural components (forgings, castings, weldments); Experience with engineering tools (CREO, DFMEA, DVP&R, CAE, etc.); and Experience with overseeing several projects simultaneously with appropriate balance of delegating responsibility and staying involved to ensure projects on track. International and domestic travel required, as needed, up to 20%.
