Engineering Manager – Mattoon, IL
The Mattoon Engineering Manager role is responsible for delivering increased site capacity through leadership, capital projects and most importantly continuous improvement. This position has responsibility for Associate development in site engineering, facilities, reliability, technical training and continuous improvement.
What would your key responsibilities be?
• Engineering
• Serve as the site liaison on project, engineering teams for project which are being executed by non-site based engineering resources
• Manage engineering projects required to achieve the plant strategy and the operating plan, including ownership of the site discretionary fund and Asset Health check items
• Along with the Plant and Central IE manage the site's CAB to support the site's 5-year strategy and meet key business unit objectives
• Lead the controls and operating system strategy for the plant equipment
• Ensure asset strategies provide flexibility to meet changing business requirements.
• Support the work of site and central engineering groups; including associate development and execution of project activities
• Reliability
What are we looking for?
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline
• Knowledge of Mars culture and objectives
• At least 5 years' experience in the food processing industry with a minimum of 4 years in a technical role and 2 years of supervisory experience
• Knowledge of applicable government regulations
• A minimum of an undergraduate degree with a technical/operational focus or the equivalent in experience.
• High level of analytical thinking and communication skills
• A strong understanding of process, packaging, utilities, control and power distribution systems
• A strong understanding of maintenance practices and risk management techniques
