Job Description

Contract type: TfL

Transport for London (TfL) Engineers are always looking forward. Join us in one of our Central Engineering, Transport System Engineering or Infrastructure Engineering teams and, as well as maintaining legacy assets, you’ll deliver new systems and solutions. There’s more to it than tubes, roads, buildings and bridges. This is about connecting communities and creating opportunities, so we’re ready for the 21st century and beyond.

Day-to-day your focus will be on delivering fire engineering designs, fire strategies, drawings, calculations and fire impact assessments that keep vital, innovative and big-budget projects moving. You’ll make sure assets are safe, working and compliant; develop solutions; and be a trusted source of fire engineering advice for everyone, including Heads of Engineering Delivery.

As a fire professional you will be expected to have an accredited fire qualification (or equivalent) and be a member of the Institution of Fire Engineers (Graduate / Technician / Associate Member).

It’s important you bring a passion for our Vision and future strategy too. That’s because you’ll explore work of unparalleled scale, scope and variety across a unique range of projects, as you build your career and expertise.

We are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion. We want our team to represent the city we serve, which will help us become a more innovative and efficient organisation. Our goal is to make our recruitment as inclusive as possible. We are a disability confident employer who guarantee an interview to any disabled candidate who meets all of the essential criteria. We also use anonymising software that removes identifying information from CVs and cover letters to make the process fair.

Application Process
Please apply using your most recent CV and Cover Letter. (Word format only). Shortlisting is carried out on the basis of how well you meet the criteria for the role.

The closing date for applications is 15th April 2022 @ 23:59

Benefits

In return for your commitment and expertise, you will enjoy excellent benefits and scope to grow. Our benefit package includes;

  • Final Salary Pension Scheme

  • Free travel for you on the TfL network

  • A 75% discount on National Rail Season Ticket and interest free loan

  • 30 days annual leave plus public and bank holidays

  • Private Healthcare discounted scheme

  • Tax-efficient cycle-to-work programme

  • Retail, health, leisure and travel offers through the MyTfL rewards programme

  • Discounted Eurostar travel

  • Flexible Working or Part Time Working
