Meritor Inc. Emerging Leadership and Development Program (ELDP) is designed for top notch recent graduates with a bachelor's or master's degree in Engineering. These candidates must possess the drive to become future leaders that deliver outstanding results in a dynamic Engineering environment.
Job Responsibilities:
Employees in the Engineering ELDP program will be part of an exciting and challenging rotational work experience. The program lasts for three years and consists of three, one-year rotations and may include an international assignment up to 6 months in duration.
Assignments are in one of the following areas:
• Product Engineering-Brakes, Axles, Drivelines, Suspensions
• Program Management
• Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering
• Global Electronics-Pneumatics, Controls and Mechatronics, Vehicle Dynamics
• Aftermarket Engineering
• Testing & Validation
• Simulation-FEA or Dynamic modeling
The ELDP Engineer will have significant responsibilities, with an opportunity to have an immediate impact on company performance. Ultimately, the ELDP may have the opportunity to be part of the core of talented Engineering leaders, who will support Meritor’s long-term strategies and growth, and lead empowered teams to make valuable engineering product decisions. More specific position descriptions can be provided on each rotational area depending on the candidate’s specific interest.
QUALIFICATIONS
Technical/Professional Knowledge:
• Demonstrated capability and knowledge of fundamental Mechanical Engineering concepts (i.e. Strength and Mechanics of Materials, Vibrations, Controls, Fluid Mechanics and Heat Transfer).
• Use of Engineering software such as FEA, Matlab, MathCad or Minitab
• Familiarity with design software such as Pro-E, Catia or AutoCad
• Knowledge of vehicle systems (Axles, brakes, suspensions)
Education:
• Bachelor or Master's degree in Engineering. (Recent graduate or projected May 2015)
• 3.0 GPA or higher.
Required Qualifications:
• Strong teamwork and ability to interact with all levels of the organizations.
• Effective oral and written communication skills including presentation creation.
• Strong analytical and problem solving ability.
• Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities with
minimal supervision.
• Willing to take assignments at multiple locations and work internationally.
• Previous internship or professional work experience in a related field.
